"Every year for my partner’s birthday, I search for weeks to find a cake that feels special—authentic, artisan, and far from big industrial chains. This year, I discovered La Charlotte at Pâtisserie Vanessa, and it was worth it. Looks elegant and the taste is amazing. Deep, rich chocolate without being too sweet, a crispy heart, and a light, airy texture from the ladyfingers boudoir. I highly recommend pairing it with a scoop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream to balance the intensity of the chocolate fondant. Professional staff, cozy space, and fair pricing. A satisfying experience."

"Just okay overall. I stopped in on my way to the 4 train to try a few sweet treats and left feeling a bit underwhelmed. The woman at the counter recommended the raspberry pastry — it was very soft, but the filling had a flavor and texture that felt a bit off to me. I also tried the marble loaf, which was dense and tasted somewhat artificial; I usually prefer a lighter, more moist cake with a larger crumb. That said, the interior is lovely — very Parisian café vibes with a charming upstairs seating area that makes it a nice place to sit for a few minutes. Overall, cute spot but the pastries didn’t quite live up to the look."

"A Parisian vibe. The pastries were delicious. And beautiful. Very classic and clean. Quiche was good but the salad wasn’t that good. It’s a lovely place. Staff could be more friendly. I know it’s hard to work in this industry, but you’re dealing with people. But I want to go back and try different things."

"One of the best things about NYC is the incredible food scene—you can always find something delicious no matter the hour. While looking for dessert spots with strong reviews, I came across Vanessa’s Patisserie. What caught my attention were the unique mousse options and beautifully presented pastries. I stopped by on a Saturday afternoon, and as expected, the place was pretty packed—a good sign. The atmosphere was cozy yet buzzing with energy, and the pastry display was hard to resist. I tried La Charlotte, which was rich and beautifully balanced, along with a couple of Madeleines—light, soft, and just the right touch of sweetness. I also went for the dark chocolate mousse option, which didn’t disappoint. It was smooth, intense, and perfectly decadent. To complement it, I ordered a coffee, and the roast was bold with a sharp, flavorful punch that cut nicely through the sweetness of the desserts. Prices are on the higher side, but that’s expected for this part of the city, especially given the quality of ingredients and the care put into presentation. It’s definitely a spot where you treat yourself, and it’s worth it. If you’re a dessert lover or just craving something refined and indulgent, Vanessa’s Patisserie should absolutely be on your list. Come ready to enjoy and don’t skip the mousse."

"the madeleines were dry, not sweet, and crumbly. i prefer the factory-made ones that are slightly crisp on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. 0/10 the chocolate chips were AWFUL. they were salted...which works, but not when the salts in extreme excess of the sugar. Plus, the bitterness of the chocolate worked to overpower the slight sweetness. 0/10 the almond bear-shaped cake wasn't half bad. i'd say only 25% bad. more sugar would have helped. 7/10 lemon tart in the shape of a rose- Nice. not ground-breaking, but nice. 8/10 the store is beautiful, but the flavors weren't"

"Went to Le Pain Quotidien at Lexington Avenue this chilly morning in New York City. I don't have much time for dining in as I was checking out at 11am so I..."
