"Standing in line at Zabars, realize that ordering the iced Vietnamese coffee would be picking an unfair fight with my normal banh mi place. Step out and have a sit on the north facing benches in the middle of Broadway @ 81st. What I really want is a quick cortado and to get back on that bench on this glorious fall Sunday before someone else nabs it. Pop into Royal - There's a barista with a friendly welcoming hello. His smile made my day better, and the cortado was excellent. Wife went in moments later and had a similar experience with a flat white. Our group had to part ways and head out of town, but Royal was a nice end to the weekend."
