What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"The yogurt parfait looked good with the deconstruction as a nice elegant touch. The Nordico was expensive for being so small. In addition the bread was crumbly and cold rye which is good for soups but not for salmon; nowadays the ryes for salmon are pillowy. I know it's classic to use a crumbly rye but that's changed. The coffee was burnt drip coffee so I wouldn't order that again either. The ambience is classic hotel coffee bar, clean with classic wood chairs. I liked it for conversation. The staff was nice too, I don't know who says they're impolite."
"I have often walked by the Sant Ambroeus Coffee Bar on Third Avenue but always had the distinct impression that it was overpriced and seemed to attract a certain clientele that didn’t mind spending more because it limited the kinds of customers who might prefer a cheaper cup of coffee. I was shocked that a large latte cost over $8 and probably should have headed to the door but wondered, is it possible that their coffee would be worth the price? While trying to decide, I checked out the prices of their salads and sandwiches, that actually looked reasonably priced but regrettably, I just ordered the latte and after a few sips, tossed it in a garbage can! In my opinion, their coffee is indeed overpriced but their salads and sandwiches might be worth buying! I might return to sample their other menu items but I really was disappointed with my overpriced latte !"
"I haven’t tried anything here yet, simply because I didn’t really feel like it this time. The display didn’t look very fresh, and although there were quite a few staff members, there were no guests, and the team seemed busy with something else. I got the impression that the food quality might not be great, even though I’ve seen many positive reviews about this place. I hope next time I’ll have a better experience and get to try something for myself."
"A cute coffee bar with big flavor. The grain salad was elegantly flavored, refreshing and also filling. Perfect for summer days. The hot chocolate is not particularly dense, in terms of texture, compared with other Italian hot chocolate in the city. However I found it soothing, not too rich/sweet, and easy to drink. The barista made a small cup for my little one - a super kind and thoughtful move. A pleasant option within walking distance of Central Park. Can't wait to go back next time."
"I’d like to share some constructive feedback, especially for the owner of this place. I came in planning to enjoy a meal, have some coffee, and get a bit of work done on my laptop. However, when I went to order, the staff member told me I couldn’t stay too long using my computer because the space tends to get busy. I understand if there are internal policies, but at that moment the café wasn’t crowded, and I was planning to order and support the business. It felt like future potential customers were being prioritized over someone ready to consume and enjoy the space. Because of this, I decided to leave. I truly wanted to spend time there, but the experience left me disappointed. I hope this can be taken into consideration to make the space more welcoming for all customers."
"I absolutely loved Sant Ambroeus! I would say this is one of the more authentic italian coffee shops (could probably have guessed by the name). There is a..."
