What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"These folk are a great coffee roaster and a fine coffee brewer. I just stopped in for a quick drip coffee, and they had four different brews and a decaf for me to sample and choose between. I went with a hazelnut which wasn’t overpowered and still retained a ton of good coffee flavor. I’ll have to come back to try the whole beans. They have $10 card minimum, but you can Venmo them for smaller charges, if you don’t have the cash."
"A local UWS delight - pop in for beans or ground coffee, a cup of Joe, or some treats. A remarkable selection and very helpful staff who can advise on all things coffee. Highly recommended."
"I googled this coffee roaster to check their online store and was shocked they had anything less than five stars- Let me just say, I’ve been purchasing flavoured coffee on multiple continents and half a dozen countries. — The sensuous bean has the best flavoured coffee ☕️ beans I’ve ever had outside of Europe, and that’s saying something- I must be purchasing a kilo of various flavours from them every other month. I cannot recommend the caramel toffee or decaf chocolate enough- The negative reviews here must be from , to put it politely, the local “I can complain about anything types .”"
"A true NYC gem - i asked for whatever they recommend for espresso , they made a 1/4 lb blend of two kinds of beans. I just came home and made myself a cup… WOW its so good. In a neighborhood filled with luxury clothing stores, this spot is very special. Support your local small business and support the sensuous bean!!!! This place is amazing, I’ll definitely be coming back"
"Tiny cute shop, some baristas are super nice. Have come to this place a lot in the past year but two things are I think just too much: 1. Highly inconsistent in-shop coffee flavours. I think the taste depends on the person making it, and sometimes it’s really good, and sometimes it’s the most watery soapy weird coffee I’ve ever had. It’s a complete shot in the dark whenever I order that the coffee will be good or horrible (too sweet, too watery, too soapy, too artificial). Some coffees have actually been inedible for me 2. I buy pastries sometimes and today, my muffin was moldy. I think: ok, it happens, I should let them know so they can check on the other muffins. When I told the barista: “so sorry, but I think my muffin is moldy so you may want to check the others”, she was apologetic and asked to see the muffin. She immediately crumbled it in her hand and squished most of the mold and says bluntly “there’s nothing here. Muffins are just green sometimes” and I say yes, but you can see the spores a bit. Luckily I took this photo before she destroyed the muffin so I show her, but after looking for a second, she says “no, definitely not mold. You can have another muffin if you want though!” And I apologize and say I’m okay. She made me feel crazy and I’m not sure if she checked on the other muffins, because I left ASAP. Felt so uncomfortable. Been coming in multiple times a month for the past year and I think this may be my last visit"
