What People Are Saying
from Google"LOVE the food, coffee, and staff here. This place is a super reliable cafe that does it for me every time. Menu prices are pretty steep but at least you get a great value for your dollar. I would gladly give 5 stars if it weren’t for the horrible fluorescent lighting, it’s genuinely so bad I have stopped dining in. It is both blinding white and flickering half the time so quickly causes migraines. If they could switch to warm lighting and get some comfier seating this would be the best cafe in the UWS."
"Slate Café was such a great recommendation from the staff at Hotel Beacon. We tried the breakfast bowl and the breakfast pizza - both were incredibly good. The staff were friendly, and even just after 8 a.m. on a Saturday there were plenty of seats. We enjoyed it so much we’re already planning to go back tomorrow"
"Lovely spot for breakfast or brunch. The coffee was smooth and beautifully presented, and the food was fresh and flavorful — especially the scrambled eggs with mushrooms and toast. Cozy atmosphere and friendly service. Would definitely come back!"
"Clean self service style cafe. Portion sizes are pretty small. Pumpkin spiced latte was too sweet for my liking but Chicken pesto bowl was decent."
"SOLID place for breakfast/brunch! I ordered the coconut matcha yogurt bowl and it was perfectly satisfying - the only downside was it was $15. A neighboring table ordered one of the breakfast sandwiches, so I’d go back and try one of those and a latte! Ambience is okay - no laptop space and it does feel like the sound bounces/echos quite a bit. Overall solid option for cafe!"
