"I entered the coffee shop around 5:19 pm , was there to meet with my friend for a quick coffee date before she had to go back to class , I got there before my friend and I wanted to wait to order I found a cozy spot and settle down to wait, the place was mid full, when I got there . I was sitting for a few minutes when Francisco Zenon approached me , very rude , he came up to me and before I stood up to greet him he told me he was running a business I was confused ( I am a musician so I thought he had recognized from somewhere initially I thought he was a fan and wanted to say hi, or at least I thought that he was going to you know take my order or something of that nature , to my surprise , before I was able to say good afternoon and introduce myself , the manager Mr Francisco Zenon ,told me in front of people that I had 5 minutes to order otherwise he was going to kick me outta the place , that he was running a business , he didn’t bother to asked me why i hadn’t ordered just yet , I felt embarrassed and I couldn’t believe that he had singled me out , like there was a lot of people and I didn’t see him approaching anyone else, but me . My answer to him was , excuse sir I’m waiting for my friend , shes 2 minutes away and I wanted to wait for her to order , why you approached me this way , so rude you could’ve at least said good afternoon and asked me if I needed something , I told him I am a human being you know that’s not the way to treat people as I made my way to the register to buy something , instead he assumed that I was there littering , wasting time , that’s not how you treat your customers I said , he said I wasn’t a costumer since I had not purchased anything , I told him you didn’t bother to even asked me if I wanted something or why I hadn’t buy anything yet while I was trying to talk to him he was being dismissed and disrespectful , Francisco just came up to me and I greeted him and attempted to introduce myself , he did’t asked me anything, how I was doing or if I needed anything , instead he simply jumped into conclusions and to my understanding he was being racist towards me , I felt embarrassed and discriminated against. I wanted to record the incident but I was too upset I just got the time to snapped a picture, my day was ruined by this man prejudice ! Black folks don’t go there I’ll never comeback there !"

"Terrible bland matcha latte with whole milk for ~5 bucks (10% discount for nyu students). The staff is fast and nice. The place has a lot of space for study. I did not bump into issue with wifi limit like my friend said. They have okish bathroom. Just here cuz it’s final season and library is packed :)"

"Tons of seating and great lighting inside. Menu is huge and there is a printer which is amazing. Wifi was out while I was there, and note that student discount is only for local schools (NYU and one other, I forgot)"

"Spacious NYC coffee shop with super duper cool artwork, drawings and decor all around you! Makes the experience more fun and interesting. Layout of shop is nice with plenty of seating areas. One of my favorite coffee spots to go to while in New York, East Village. Coffee is delish here and the fresh warm pastries! Menu is interesting as well with many options, great creative scene!"
