What People Are Saying
from Google"Recent weekend stay was superb, staff very friendly and very helpful. We were upgraded to a small suite which as perfect. Lots of space on 10th floor and amazingly quiet. Large well equipped bathroom with separate soaker tub. This was our second stay and we definitely will be back. Somewhat expensive but worth the price."
"The Hotel Chelsea is the current incarnation of the Chelsea Hotel of literary and rock n roll legend. It’s a four to five star hotel beautifully integrated into a nearly 150 year old classic literary apartment building, with a gorgeously restored French cafe and a fine Japanese restaurant. This is not a place for everyone but we loved it! Quirky, unique, an unforgettable stay. Stayed in one of the loft rooms, which was spacious, comfortable and had a nice view of the Empire State Building. Staff were professional and friendly. The spa amenities were just ok, a small gym and a coed sauna with various massage and health treatments available. Close to the 23d St subway stations. Art all over the walls collected from various prior denizens. (Some good and some absolutely awful, all fun to look at.). The price was high but not outrageously expensive for an experience of this quality — and it is truly an experience! This is not your dad’s fave Marriott biz hotel. Highly recommend for a travel adventure that you’ll remember for a long time."
"The Hotel Chelsea is beautiful. It's like walking back in time. Exceptional details in the rooms, hallways, lounge and restaurants. Well done. The art on the walls was exceptional. The only issue I had, in late December, was the first morning shower was warm, then ice cold after a minute or two. The second day, nothing but freezing cold water. Check yours when you arrive and call maintenance if it doesn't have hot water."
"Staying at The Hotel Chelsea is pure New York magic. The mix of history, art, and modern comfort makes every corner fascinating. You can really feel that every detail has been cared for, from the design to the atmosphere, it is a place with soul. The room was beautiful, elegant, and full of character. The craftsmanship and décor are top notch. The spa deserves a special mention, it is gorgeous, relaxing, and the staff are some of the best I have met, kind, professional, and genuinely passionate about what they do. There is always a buzz in the hotel, that classic grand hotel vibe where people come and go, yet somehow it still feels intimate. My only suggestion would be for management to rethink the extra charges for rooms with a bathtub or balcony. In a place of this level, those touches should be part of the experience, not an upgrade. Overall, it is a stay that feels both timeless and exciting, a piece of New York’s legend."
"Absolutely amazing stay! Fantastic suite, attentive staff. We had a wonderful weekend staying here. The artwork in the hallways was really cool as were the Hotel Chelsea history books in the rooms. Our suite was very spacious and the kitchenette was very well equipped."
