"I see why they got a perfect 5.0 score. This cafe is my new favorite cafe. Checks off so many boxes for me. Excellent Espresso, Great Latte art, very friendly baristas, great assortment of baked goods (most made in house), great seating, great lighting, calm soft music, no shortage of plugs, bright clean, Literally nothing negative comes to mind. This is a GEM. I got two cortados and a cappucino. Tasted sooooo good. Also got the Croissant and the house made banana chocolate bread, also great. Definitely coming back. Got to talk with the barista and the owner, both very pleasant and kind. Can't wait to return!"

"Aesthetic coffee shop in East Harlem with high-quality espresso, tea, and buttery pastries. It's a great atmosphere: generous space, various seating options, pretty outdoor patio. There's WiFi, a cool red espresso machine, and my favorite chocolate croissant in the neighborhood. The staff is really friendly, too. The Townhouse Cafe is must visit!"

"Noshes and espresso are fabulous. The partial service and subpar hospitality I’m receiving as I’m ordering my cup of Turkish coffee with banana syrup? Not so much. You’ll never see a black female patron in here who wouldn’t pass a paper bag test because the more full figured barista makes a spectacle of saying “good morning, welcome I’m so happy to see you” while questioning whether I, as a AA woman, is “okay” with the Turkish espresso I ordered. No offense but my palate was well developed before I graduated from an Ivy League school with a bachelors… being born and raised in queens is a bonus. I don’t appreciate the subtle racism and inquiries about whether I’m “absolutely sure” I’ve tasted Turkish coffee before, let alone if I’m sure that will go with the bomboloni I ordered to accompany it. Main barista doesn’t have the same ick about serving me because the owner personally let her know “I’m cool, not a vagrant with a love for premier caffeinated handcrafted drinks and cafes, it was curated at university so she’s not a danger even tho she likes to wear all black?”"

The coffee is always fresh and well-made, and the pastries are a nice bonus. The staff are friendly and make you feel welcome every time you walk in. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the area."
