What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"Exploring the area and stopped here for lunch. WOW. Such a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is outstanding, great prices and huge portions. Tons of homemade desserts. The staff were all so kind to each other as well. Wonderful experience 🙂"
"Lovely place with exquisite food. Spring rolls were just right with a perfect crunch and awesome dipping sauce with a hint of peanut butter. Sloppy Joe’s had cheddar, onions and mustard with toasted bun, made you feel like you’re sampling a cooking show. Lunch can come with side and homemade cookie, definitely choose that option."
"I’m back for a 2nd visit. Last week service lacked in speed and follow-up but excellent food. Very nice Sophia welcomed me from the walk-in and a quick have a seat anywhere. Placed order since closing in 20 minutes. Seafood platter was a huge disappointment. Overcooked, which made it oily and a bit hollow as fish gets when overcooked. I would rather have less shrimp, less hush puppies, one less cod but larger and with better quality. Generous portion cut into the quality on P&L. Hush puppies were small and overcooked. The side salad was great presentation and delicious with a different kind of blue cheese. Culver’s has way better cod and hush puppies way better at LJS. I felt like seafood platter was just GFS or Krogers frozen items fried by the cook not watching the basket and no timer. Too busy cleaning to get out I guess. Fish seemed more like a cheap cut. Again Culver’s is top notch and sets the bar at same price level. That is my comparative reasoning. I was expecting a cod filet batter dipped and fried nice with this homemade style and fame of other great items on the menu. Shrimp was a butterfly but more like a sliver overcooked. Bearded Mgr not once cared to ask how was meal. He walked by twice. Service and food is graded 8am-8pm. Since closing soon, food came out fast and I moved quick for them to leave “on time”. Service was great this time. Great atmosphere over any fast food for sure. Take an extra minute in life to enjoy this place and yourself. The House of Blues burger is to go. We shall see. Not cooked medium. Too much going on with the ingredients. Took away from the lacking burger taste. Do they season the meat? Too many places afraid to use salt and pepper. Let the customer add it is a let down you see on the food network all the time as a huge mistake. I will be back again for more reviews. I have 3 more gift cards. Hopefully great food like the first visit will meet up with great service. Came back on 6/26. Ordered the Sicilian Lasgna. As you can see from the photo it looks more like Sicilian SLOP. Did they just scrape the last corner out of the pan? Not one solid lasagna noodle. Taste was decent but the looks was 1star. Toast was great, chocolate cream cheese muffin was great. Salad was great. Service with Clint starts off good. But then when I asked to add to my meal as he was dropping off the tab, he kept walking and replied oh you can you can add to it anytime. He just forgot to mention he was never coming back and thought filling the ice buckets and napkins on the counter and hit other new tables was now more important. FIVE plus minutes later all that, I had to get up and place my to go order and lemon blueberry cheesecake with the very nice counter and phone order taker. She is always excellent. She wears the headset all the time. Seriously, does anyone check on the crap that comes out of that kitchen sometimes. It is hit or miss on either food or service. Not all people are old and retired and don’t mind waiting."
"I stopped for lunch and ordered the Reuben Value meal for $12.95. I got the hot sandwich with one side (onion rings) and a cookie (chocolate chip). The Reuben was smaller than many but was filled with corned beef, cheese and kraut and very tasty. The side of onion rings were generous and the cookie was delicious! I was full when I left."
"Great little diner I can't wait to visit again for a dine-in experience. I carried out a custom bacon, sausage, and egg croissant (server recommended it when I initially ordered 2 separate croissants). Also tempted by the home baked desserts, but only pulled the trigger on the ginger snap. The food was tasty, and the service was friendly and exceptional. I loved that Pink Floyd was playing (reasonable volume level) while I waited for my order."
"Joe is a one man show of awesomeness. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait as he makes all the food to order, and trust me, it's worth the wait! This..."
