from Google & Yelp"Bean & Barley is such a gem. The matcha is absolutely amazing—easily some of the best I’ve had. The environment is unique and cozy, with a great vibe that makes you want to hang out longer. The service is friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is awesome: a cool basement venue downstairs plus a great outdoor back patio when the weather’s nice. Whether you’re stopping in for a drink or settling in for a while, this place nails it every time. Highly recommend!"
"Latte was good. Vine seems good here. There were many people working on thier lap tops. Only thing I’m not a fan of is the lid for the iced latte. I prefer the lids you can drink straight from. I can’t stand straws."
"Inviting atmosphere with great coffee and even better service. I Stumbled upon this cafe on google and learned that it is one of the few coffee shops that are open late into the evening. As soon as i walked in, i noticed that the pillows in top of the seating rows and the great cozy atmosphere that allows people to work while minding their business which is the perfect mix for a coffee spot! They have a downstairs too and both floors have a patio area which I will try once the weather gets warmer. The downstairs is a more quiet environment but the main floor is filled with vibes and background conversations so it offers both ambiances that a cafe often calls for. The selection of wine has depth which makes it a good spot to hangout even after the coffee hours are gone. As a latino, i loved seeing the empanadas on their menu which is a great snack or meal and goes well with coffee. I ordered the usual, dark toast drip coffee, yet again and the flavor was a bit on the robust side with a hint of bitterness but delicious nonetheless. I had more than three refills of it and was more awake than a meth head at 3 pm in the afternoon! The barista was so sweet and was more than happy to take care of my refills every time i stepped up to the bar! Will come back to try their empanadas."
"I came in for warmth today after my car broke down a block over and I had to wait for a jump. I told the barista, Tate, why I was upset and he showed me immense kindness. He let me put on a tv show I like and offered to help me jump my car. Coffee was delicious too. I’m so grateful for his kindness. Thank you Tate!"
"I've only been here once, so far. It's a decent-sized space inside, with lots of outlets, WiFi, and chairs with backs and cushions. There's also plenty of patio seating for a nicer day. Drink-wise, the plain latte I had was 10/10. The espresso/barista quality speak for themselves, and it speaks volumes if I can enjoy a drink that much without trying a more interesting/seasonal drink. They also have pastries/breakfast items. The mini quiche was phenomenal -- herby, rich, a tad bit of spice.. I'd eat it any day. My hard-to-please lady said the coffee cake was just decent and the caramel vanilla capp was 8/10 (excellent by her standards). This place is open late and serves wine/beer/cocktails, too.. what that really means is this is a rare place where you can get a coffee late in the evening! I have no doubt they'll be seeing my face more in the future; it's a top-notch coffee shop that I can't wait to explore more of!"
"Bean and Barley is a favorite of mine. I just left my apartment in O'Bryonville, and would go here multiple times a week. Great espresso, fun cocktails, and..."
