"Would give Dutch’s new management zero stars if I could. We live nearby and this used to be our go-to spot. We loved the staff, the vibe, and the menu. The spinach artichoke dip, Mac and cheese , wings, and smoked meat sandwiches were absolutely amazing. Things were reasonably priced for the quality and we loved hanging out there. A few months back we started to notice things change under management and it has been absolutely down hill since. They cut down portion sizes, took everything good off the menu or changed it, and raised prices. The staff got replaced and it was very obvious new staff wasn’t happy. It wasn’t long until they fully closed, and unfortunately it was not a surprise to us. The vibe of the restaurant had changed completely and they ruined everything we loved about it. Sad to see such a good spot run into the ground"

"Over the last year or so, Dutch's has reopened under new ownership by the folks who own Red Feather Kitchen. This means elevated food in a revamped casual setting. There are more tables than there used to be under the previous ownership that focused more on carryout. My wife and I stopped in for a date night and sampled various dishes on the menu. We started with a wonderful cheese board ($14 for 3 kinds of cheese and accoutrements). The selection of cheeses was a great mix and we really enjoyed this delicious start to the meal. My wife spotted others snacking on the truffle popcorn ($6) and had to give it a try. The flavor was definitely unmistakable, and while it's not my favorite thing, it was at least worth a try. We split the smoke chicken sandwich ($14 with a choice of side dish). This adds pickled jalapeno, white bbq sauce, shredded lettuce, and Dutch's unique "American" cheese crumbles. This was a big sandwich and was very good. The potato salad on the side was a nice mixture of local red potato, mustard seed, and mayo. My wife also had to try their butternut squash bisque ($6) which she declared the best she's had. Overall we had a nice meal and we should be back in the future!"

"Always wonderful, Dutch's is a quaint and very chill restaurant in the heart of Hyde Park East. If you want that chill vibe, come early (like we did) and sit at the bar. The beer and wine is always top notch and the food menu is by the great minds at Red Feather (see my review). I had the Cuban sandwich and my wife had the pimento cheese burger, both phenomenal! The bartenders are all so friendly and just really down to earth folks. My wife had a really fantastic Cabernet and I had the pumpkin lager. Wonderful time as always! Keep up the good work D!"

"First time back since new ownership took over. Updated menu was nice, though still felt overpriced. Nice atmosphere for trivia and appreciated the tent over the outdoor seating too! Had the blt and fries. Blt was good! Menu marketed heirloom tomato and my slice was very thin and definitely seemed more like a standard Roma/beefsteak and lettuce was shredded. I think it would be improved with a leafier green and more tomato. Just some feedback moving forward! I’m sure I’ll be back as it’s a nice neighborhood spot!"

"We had my husband's retirement party here. The space was perfect. Lilly was amazing to work with for preparations. Drinks and the grazing board were arranged and waiting for us. Chef Bernstein fired up the wood grill for our grill out menu - hamburgers, chicken and hot dogs (really tasty) served along with their delicious Mac & cheese, pasta salad and coleslaw. We brought a cake which they sliced and served. This was an absolutely wonderful experience. 5 stars for food, space and staff."
