What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"The pictures of the food look good. The food looks good. Yet it's clearly raw. Several pieces were raw and not cooked to temp what so ever. I called the location and the employee did say she would let the kitchen no. But did not offer me a refund or to remake my food."
"This place was next door to the motel I was staying at so I thought I'd walk over and check it out and I'm glad I did. It was nice, chill and laid back when I was there at around 5pm. The Bang Bang Shrimp was great as was their boneless Honey BBQ Wings. The big highlight of this was the Mushroom Swiss Burger. That was the BEST Mushroom Swiss Burger I've ever had (I ordered it Medium and without the tomato and onion albeit.) The burger was juicy, the cheese and mushrooms were excellent. Definitely recommend it"
"1st I'd like to say that I'd been eyeing DTB&G's menu on GrubHub for a while. Today I got a discount. I was craving to try their Buttermilk Biscuit w/Chicken and Home Fries so I ordered immediately and picked up my foods asap ONLY TO SEE that my chicken sandwich was on a BUN & my Potatoes were FRENCH FRIES!!!. This is a trend when GrubHub gives away offers for restaurants here in Columbus!!! They must NOT care Y'all..."
"I want to start by saying we want to like this place. We like to support Double Take as a POC-owned and operated business. This was not a one-off visit. We usually came here about once a month, and it had been part of our regular rotation of restaurants. The vibe is solid if you’re into a true dive bar, the music is R&B, and the food is decent. Up until this visit, we hadn’t had a bad experience, which is why I’m landing at three stars instead of lower. That said, this visit will be our last. The issues were all around pricing transparency and fees. We noticed multiple extra charges added to our bill with no clear notice anywhere in the bar or on the menu: 1. A $1 service charge (no reason) 2. A 2.99% credit card processing fee 3. An automatic 18% gratuity for a party of four, with zero signage or verbal notice Lastly, TAX is also charged on the automatic gratuity. This place is absolutely maximizing profits anyway possible. This is a darker bar, so catching all of this on the receipt is not easy, especially when you’re not expecting multiple add-ons. Whether these fees apply to all tabs or only when you order food is also unclear. On top of that, the drinks were extremely light. For $9, you are getting the absolute minimum pour. Roughly a 4 oz drink total, about 1 oz of vodka and 3 oz of mixer. None of these things on their own would have been a dealbreaker, but combined, they left a bad impression. The lack of transparency around fees and the minimal pours just don’t feel like good business practices. We genuinely wanted to keep supporting this spot, but after this experience, we won’t be back."
