What People Are Saying
from Google"Absolutely loved my visit to East African Coffee House in Gahanna! From the moment I walked in, the staff, including the owner, were so friendly and kind. We had such a pleasant conversation and I truly felt welcomed. The Somali beef samosa was phenomenal! Perfectly crisp and packed with incredible spice and flavor. The Shaah tea was warm, aromatic, and soul-filling. The iced Moos Banana Latte was creamy and fun, and the Lotus Milkcake was rich and beautifully balanced. I also tried the danishes, including a spinach and feta one that was golden, flaky, and delicious. The pastry cases are stunning: rows of cheesecakes, muffins, and pastries that all look too good to eat (but you’ll be glad you did!). The space itself is clean, cozy, and inviting too; a perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. I can’t wait to bring my family next time. This place is a gem in Gahanna, full of warmth, flavor, and heart."
"Randomly search for the coffee place and find this wonderful place. Very first time to get the taste of the Tea from east-African and it’s really amazing. Staffs are very nice and offered us the samples of the teas. The Milkcake is one of the best I’ve ever have. Will come back to try other things for sure. Thanks for providing the amazing food!"
"This place is wonderful!! I ordered the brown sugar shaken espresso which was so delicious and the almond danish. The pastry was out of this world. Service was so friendly, and it was a great vibe inside! Lots of people working and families hanging out. Had come with a friend and her kid, and they had high chairs, which was perfect. Service was so fast, and it was a pleasure to be there. Definitely check out this place, lots of great things on the menu I want to try!!! Prices are also very reasonable. The aesthetic inside is very comfortable and gorgeous."
"Very welcoming, beautiful aesthetics, clean. Great service and great food options, mix of sweet and salty snack. Their Sambosas are delicious. The art work of their logo is beautiful. I love the way it sounds-EACH. Wish them success all the way. I hope they can get some gluten free and dairy free options in future."
"Tiramisu matcha with oat iced. The cold foam is excellent. The cocoa powder on top was delicious. You can taste the matcha and it isn’t grassy. Not overly sweet. Somali Qahwah with oat milk. This usually comes with powdered milk, but they were willing to brew mine separately so that I can have oat milk. This came very hot. This is a spicy drink that is sweetened. Blueberry Cream Cheese Danish. Came warmed up. Great blend of sweet and salty. The texture could have been more flakey. Beef Sambuse. Came warmed up. It’s a pastry with meet and beef in the inside. This was delicious and the hot sauce that was in the side brought it to the whole other level. If you’re a fan of hot sauces, I really recommend this one. It’s not too hot and is flavorful, almost like a spicy salsa. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. They knew it was our first time and so they explained everything and gave us time to view the menu. We came in a Sunday around 1pm and half the tables were being used. This place is well lit with about 10 tables. The plates are compostable, which I really appreciate. If possible, I would love to see them use reusable cups, plates, and utensils."
