What People Are Saying
from Google"I came to Northstar Cafe to have supposedly the best burger in Columbus. Eating their burger made me want a burger, which is to say, unsatisfied and uninspired. Northstar has hit upon the great idea of charging full-service prices for a fast casual format. The result is a stunning though noisy atmosphere, with crisply dressed and harried staff. My request for ketchup was met with mild disappointment on their part, as it was clear they were overworked. The food is much like the decor and the staff: neat, presentable, and lacking in quality and depth. By burger looked neat as a pin. All I could taste was the organic egg. The bun, cheese, and patty were absent on the palate. Breakfast potatoes similarly were beautiful, but were mostly mush without seasoning or char to give character. As a native Southerner, I found their pimento cheese utterly lacking in spice or umami. I was mildly offended. Their hot sauce, of all things, had some flavor to it. TL;DR: all show, no flavor."
"Coffee strong, eggs perfect, bacon crispy — what more could you want? 😌 Every bite hit the spot and the coffee kept the good vibes flowing. Simple breakfast done very right. This place knows exactly how to make mornings better. 10/10 would wake up early again. ☀️🥓✨"
"Northstar Cafe is a nice cafe tucked away in central clintonville. On the weekends, it gets very busy. The food is all fairly healthy and a modern take on brunch classics. They also have bottomless coffee from local roasters. I was not blown away, as the prices are a little steep for what you get. but the meal itself was a good portion and it is a decent option for a sit down brunch place."
"When you see a place with a small menu, you know you can pick anything and be satisfied. In this case I had the Thai Burrito and was thoroughly pleased with juicy chicken, delicious veggies and rice, and a fantastic peanut sauce to boot. The restaurant itself has a very particular vibe. It's both current and clean, yet it feels like a place from the 80s."
"The cookie was undercooked, the dough was raw, not just the chocolate chips. The Buddha bowl was underwhelming, especially with the tough broccoli stalk. It was a waste of money."
