"Schmidt's was AMAZING! I love German food, and this hit the spot. Coming from Cincy, I've had a good amount, but this was by far some of the best I'd had in a while. The sauerkraut with pork was delicious. Pretzel nuggets- bomb. Sauerkraut balls - pretty sure best I've ever had. Our server, Lauren, as the sweetest and most patient - we came with questions! She gave us great advice and tips and was so friendly to talk to. Definitely will return at some point when back in the area!"

"It's been awhile since I haven't been to Schmidt's because I moved a year ago to Indiana. Went on New Years and I was so happy to see that Lorenzo the bartender is again at the house! The last time I went they told me he was not anymore and definetly I saw the diffence in the service a few times I was there, before moving out of town. I was a customer there for the last 7 yrs I lived in Columbus and I have to say that Lorenzo always has been very professional, gives an outstanding service, is the best in recomendations, anticipates the customer needs, goes above and beyond making your visit memorable. "This was such a unique food experience and had great service. The German food was authentic and delicious. It stays pretty crowded and there is a wait. We enjoyed the buffet for 25 but I couldn’t even eat 1 plate. The desserts liked so good but I couldn’t eat anymore. Their beer selection was amazing."

"Schmidt’s Sausage Haus in Columbus serves solid German fare in a lively, historic setting. The food was good, though not outstanding—our favorites were the soft pretzels with beer cheese, the brats, and the desserts. We noticed a new all-you-can-eat bar and wished we had tried it to sample more of the menu. That said, we loved the history, great service, and warm, inviting ambiance, which made the visit a memorable experience."

"Awesome classic German fare. Complete with an accordion two piece band and old brick roads out front. Throwback to the immigrants who came here almost 150 years ago. Friendly staff. The potato soup is thick and creamy. Stuffed cabbage, sauerbraten, and cream puff were perfect."
