What People Are Saying
from Google"Very cute and aesthetically pleasing bakery. Expect SUPER long lines — people are generally lined up outside >30 min before opening time and it gets worse throughout the morning. I really enjoyed their caprese pastry & everyone in our family loves the strawberry pastry. They have 3 set gluten free options, of which the cinnamon roll & coffee cake muffin were really good according to my Celiac family member. Their tiramisu latte was also great. Overall unique spot for Dayton that is reminiscent of nice city bakeries."
"Absolutely delicious! Such a wonderful bakery in the heart of Downtown Dayton. Had a line to open the place at 10am on a Sunday, but even by the time it died down, there were still plenty of pastries left. The garlic chive cream cheese croissant was my favorite, but everything we tried was both beautiful and delicious. Highly recommend stopping in!"
"Lovely shop! It looks smaller on the outside than it is on the inside, and they have outdoor seating if the weather allows for it. The atmosphere inside the shop was modern neutral colors, very cozy. The food is practically eye candy, it looks just about as good as it tastes. Personally the portions were a little on the big side, with how flavorful they were it can be hard to eat it all in one sitting. Would definitely like to come back here and to the surrounding area!"
"We are incredibly blessed to have an establishment as lovely as Val’s in Dayton. It’s a safe haven from the busyness and bustle of the world outside. Every time I walk through the door, I’m greeted with the aroma of delightfully sweet pastries and hint faint coffee in the air. The atmosphere is as relaxing as the pastries are delicious, with high ceilings, cozy furniture, and lush green plants throughout the space. I find myself here almost every other Sunday just to see what’s new and get away for a while. When I’m here, I feel at ease. A tip for anyone planning a trip: You can always order online to guarantee the items you want, but you can always just walk into the store. On weekends, the length of the line may be a coin toss, but in my opinion, it’s always worth the wait. Items I loved: Ube cruffin, loxxy croissant, twice baked garlic cheese croissant, pain au chocolat with coconut, strawberry mascarpone"
"Took a little road trip to Val’s this morning, and was so thrilled with everything I ordered! The strawberry mascarpone croissant was hands down the best pastry I’ve had in my life. It was sweet, buttery and had so much flavor. The cookie butter cube was also incredible, and the oatmeal chai cookie was so sweet and delicious. The coffee was great as well and I love the addition of the fall menu. Absolutely worth the hype, definitely stop by if you’re thinking about it!"
