What People Are Saying
from Google"It took a while for me to give Reading Grounds a chance after what happened with George House, but saw they promoted mental health on the coffee sleave one day. Glad I did. Have a variety of dirty sodas and coffee's. They have a neat little Book Nook as well. You could also buy books. Parking has it always has in this location has been a bit of a challenge but I think is worth a stop. Also if you bring used books they apparently will give you credit towards coffee."
"Very quaint little coffee shop. We stopped in on a long drive but we were impressed with how many people were hanging out in the seating and just chatting. The books lining the wall add a lot of character to the vibe. They had a really interesting menu of specialty lattes and other drinks. All of them sounded delicious."
"Me and my aunt walked in and there was a bigger lady sitting at the bar table, who seemed to be a manager or owner. And there was a lady in a flannel making the drinks. And a cashier as well. The bigger lady did not welcome us at all and seemed very rude. And the other making the drinks did not welcome us either. We walked in there and it was silent. No smile, no kind gesture or anything. We get up to the cashier and that lady was very nice and had a smile and welcomed us once we got up to order. She seemed to be new and when she had questions for the bigger lady she seemed to be snappy and rude. My aunt was looking at different stuff and the bigger lady said how they didn’t have that stuff ordered which is fine, but the way she said it was very rude. The drinks weren’t very good either. Ultimately, I feel bad of how the cashier was treated. I also don’t think you should even be in the front if you won’t welcome or tell us to have a good day when we are leaving (Bigger lady and barista). Addendum, I first would like to apologize for using a lack of a better term for calling the heavier set women, bigger. I did not intend for it to be hurtful I was just trying to differentiate the different workers at the time. We both entered the door very kindly as we would any other cafe. We go to Bakers cafe and The Baking Company frequently which greet us with kindness and a great attitude!. I also don’t understand how you encourage your baristas to match our energy when the second we entered there was no smile. We were very kind to everyone and the only one kind back to us was the cashier. So that being said, it doesn’t make sense why one person could be nice but not the other two? It also makes me wonder who’s energy your reflecting when you’re rude to your own worker. I am sorry that my Aunt was looking at the different cake pops. (Which are fully wrapped and able for anyone to touch). But the way the woman told her how it works had a very rude tone and just nasty overall. And by the way, there was not other customer in the whole building. Thank you for replying, but I think it is in everyone’s best interest to go somewhere where they care for their customers, like Bakers Cafe or Baking Company. (where your cashier should probably go as well!!) Have a good day and so sorry I came out rude! Just sharing my opinion. :)"
"The baristas are friendly and helpful. Their coffees are very good and I might even say yummy. That's a great start. To finish up, the atmosphere is really, how should I put it, Ahhhhhhh! Very relaxing and comfortable. You should make the effort to come here."
"What a great find! My family stopped while in town for business. The atmosphere is cozy and well thought out with books everywhere. It’s super clean inside as well, probably one of the cleanest and well organized coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The staff was so friendly and gracious, they were so kind to my children, who had been locked in a car for hours, so you can imagine how rambunctious they were! The coffee was wonderful! I got a cold brew with cold foam, and thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband got an iced latte which he also thought was great. My children got bakery items, which they enjoyed as well. I definitely recommend this shop to anyone stopping by!"
