from Google"I had the absolute pleasure of coordinating a private baby shower at My Momma’s House, and let me just say—Gwen and Chris truly outdid themselves. With only five weeks’ notice and me planning from out of state for 50 guests, they helped bring everything together flawlessly. We curated the perfect brunch menu—chicken & waffles, shrimp & grits, biscuits & gravy, scrambled eggs, breakfast potatoes, sausage, bacon, and fruit cups. And let’s not forget the mimosa bar with a wide variety of fun add-ins! The vibe was straight-up luxury brunch meets down-home comfort. Originally, my daughter-in-law (the mom-to-be) had cravings that weren’t on the catering menu, and Gwen went above and beyond to help us build a custom menu that honored her needs without sacrificing flavor or quality. It was the perfect balance between treating our guests and honoring the honoree. Now, I’ll admit—I had to see what the regular menu was about too, so a few days before the event, I popped in to try the catfish, mac & cheese, greens, and yams. Let me tell you… I thought my momma could cook, but this was on a whole other level. The food was beyond excellent—rich, flavorful, comforting, and made with serious love. The atmosphere was full of good energy, the staff made us feel like family, and Mika the bartender? A whole vibe! I ended up staying an extra 6 hours after the baby shower just to soak it all in. I was so blown away I asked them to come to Houston to cater my daughter’s wedding. If you didn’t know, My Momma’s House is the best—and if you still don’t know… now you know. Ain’t nobody messing with Momma in the kitchen. Period!"
"Christmas special was horrible. We knew there was going to be a wait. But when we saw the person serving the food was just running around and not really serving food when they were in buffet style pans, it confused us on the wait. People were returning their numbers and leaving. Should have been a warning to us. They were lucky. No prices were posted. The drinks were not good. Suppose to pay when we picked up food. Imagine our shock when we had to pay $115 for 2 mediocre turkey dinners, 2 cokes and a long Island tea. I asked the girl serving drinks how much the turkey dinner was and she said $45. Later I saw on their Facebook page that it was only $35. We got overcharged. Food was served in to go boxes. Side servings was wrong. No dressing for 4 cups of salad. No greens. Just Mac and cheese and candied yams for both of us. Dessert was also wrong. The food was luke warm. Food tasted good but would have been better served hot. No rolls either. Not worth going to this place. Seems like managing and price gauging is not in their forte! They should hire a manager that knows how to run a restaurant and figure out better pricing. If they can do that then maybe it will do better. By the way, there was a big group then I think left because they had been waiting a long time. People that ordered steaks before us were still waiting when we left after eating."
"We came here tonight for Thanksgiving. I didn’t know what to expect but this lady can cook! All the staff were so nice and attentive, and the woman who made all the food from scratch was so passionate and you can tell she loves it! We will definitely be back and I highly recommend this place!"
"The pictures are no justice to how amazing the food truly is. I've been on countless occasions now and Sundays are my favorite. The scenery alone in the evening from My Momma's House is stunning and sets the atmosphere. Chris and his mom make you feel at home, making sure you get everything you came for. The menu's vary for the special on that Sunday. I've had the bone in steak, lamb chops, meatloaf and chicken wings. All season to perfection ! My favorite was the lamb chops and steak. Both fall off the bone tender and the smoked flavor was mouth watering. Meatloaf also so fire, get there in time sometimes they sellout if that alone tells you how amazing it is!!! With no exaggeration B-E-S-T Mac and cheese I've EVER had!! Sorry momma 😩. Tried the scalloped potatoes for the first time this past Sunday. It is not always on the menu, but when it is grab It you won't be disappointed."
"This was our first time there, and the food was amazing!!! We had the catfish, fried corn, greens, and, of course, mac and cheese. The strawberry cake (I can't remember what it was called) topped the whole meal off being so moist and soft and soooo good!!! We will definitely be back! The staff was extremely nice!"
