"Loved the inventive interior design although the shop seemed a bit cramped and noisy. That just underscores how much Bend people appreciate good coffee and food. I usually go for a cappuccino, but the barista recommended the pumpkin spice latte and it was a special treat that paired well with the delicious scone. I noticed that Backporch Coffee has several Bend locations and their HQ is nearby. I'll try more locations next time I'm in Bend!"

"Very friendly atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating. They had a fire-pit lit while i was there which was very inviting and a must on a cold Oregon morning. I ordered the turmeric latte and asked them to add espresso. This was an amazing drink. I had not had any breakfast and was hungry. There were some pastries and bagels to choose from. No prices for food on the menu board. No indication that they offered cream cheese. I know they do cuz i had to ask. Overall the food was great. I sat down and saw someone eating an egg sandwich. Sheesh if i knew they had that i would have wanted that. Soooo 4 stars. Hang a complete menu somewhere and I would give it 5."

Yep, a little pricier than your corner coffee spot, but honestly worth it. Both drinks were smooth and balanced — the matcha was creamy, not bitter at all, while the lavender latte had that perfect floral hint without overpowering the coffee. Bonus: the latte art heart on top was simple but done with care, which tells you a lot about the barista. And speaking of service — the barista was the highlight. Friendly, knowledgeable, and quick to suggest a roast I wouldn’t have noticed otherwise. That level of confidence and genuine warmth elevates the entire experience. Now, a small caveat: there’s no restroom inside. They’ll give you a code for the one just behind the wall — super clean and convenient once you know, but still something to keep in mind if you’re planning to hang out. Overall? 5 stars, easy.
