What People Are Saying

"What a gem! This locally owned shop has everything you could want for a Cannon Beach stop. Salt, water, taffy, fudge… and then you turn a corner and there’s caramel corn, cheese corn, ice cream, unique gifts, and so much more. The selection feels endless, but what makes it even better are the people—so warm and welcoming, it really adds to the experience. It’s one of those places where you walk in for one thing and leave with a bag full of treats you didn’t even know you needed. Definitely a must-stop when you’re in Cannon Beach. I’ll let my photos do the talking, but trust me—you’ll want to plan a visit!"

"Listen. If you ever find yourself wandering through the salt-kissed mist of Cannon Beach with sand in your shoes and an ache for something sweet in your soul, go ahead and duck into Schwietert's Cones & Candy. It's a sugar-slinging time machine. Shelves groan under the weight of taffy in colors that don't occur in nature and fudge dense enough to warp gravity. I had the ice cream. Two scoops. Marionberry Pie and Mountain Huckleberry. Both from Tillamook, which around here is less a brand and more a benevolent dairy cult. These berries are like edible postcards from the Pacific Northwest. One bite and you're knee-deep in a foggy forest thinking you hear Bigfoot weeping quietly from joy. Of course the prices are high. You're in a town where the beach views are free and everything else makes up for it. The real gamble is who hands you your scoop. Some of us got generous lumps the size of a toddler's fist while others looked like they'd been served a sample. Such is life in a democracy. The lines wound throughout the store, but it moved along at a respectable clip. People were smiling. Sugar does that. All in all, this is the kind of place that doesn't pretend to be anything other than what it is. A temple to nostalgia. A sanctuary for the sweet-toothed and sunburnt. Four stars. One star held in reserve for the day someone figures out how to standardize scoop sizes."

"While visiting Cannon Beach, I stumbled upon the most charming ice cream and candy shop, and it truly was a gem! With 94 flavors of candy, endless varieties of fudge, and so many ice cream choices, it felt like a sweet lover's paradise. The shop itself had such a unique vibe, and the friendly server made the experience even better with their warm and welcoming attitude. Whether you're craving candy, fudge, or ice cream, this place has it all—and the energy inside is just as sweet as the treats! Highly recommend stopping by if you're in town."

"The first thing you experience when you walk up to this store is the AMAZING smell. The store was clean and the staff was friendly and very helpful. This store offers an amazing variety and selection of salt water taffy. My wife, from North Carolina coast, says this is better than the salt water taffy made there. The other selection of candy is awesome. They even had Grape Big League Chew...i had to buy some. Personally, i had ice cream. Death by chocolate. The taste was creamy and super chocolaty. Super delicious. They also made fudge in house as well as some other sweet chocolaty desserts. The prices were on par for a beach business. I will let the pictures tell the rest of the story. Please like this post if you find this helpful."

"The original location of this Oregon Coast candy chain with almost everything to satisfy your sweet tooth including ice cream, fudge, saltwater taffy, and truffles that are made at the shop. It is hard to resist the large selection of taffy, bulk candy, jellybeans, and treats such as ice cream cones, popcorn and a large selection of soda. I selected several truffles from the large selection including white chocolate. Located on Hemlock Street in Cannon Beach across from the Mariner Market on about First Street. Parking is very limited. A nice place to stop for a sweet treat for almost everybody with waffle cones, coffee, cheese popcorn, seaform, and other delicious confections with friendly service."
