What People Are Saying
from Google"I have been a faithful customer of Jerrick’s first BJ coffee since she first opened. I was very happy to know she had a coffee shop in my neighborhood. But, I’m finding through the years since she has expanded, it’s not as personal for me. I understand she has new barista’s, new menu & new hours but I’m not feeling the love anymore. The pro’s: Jerrick’s chai tea is extremely good! Most of the time my coffee’s are good. Her prices are comparable to other coffee kiosks. Barista’s are friendly Service is reasonable The con’s: Why no price’s on the menu board? The hours of being open are absolutely horrible. I never understood why close early/mid afternoon during rush hour? I understand it’s because of winter hours. You’d think she’d be open longer because it’s cold. There’s been more times I look forward to a coffee in the afternoon & they’re closed. I don’t care for the computer system, especially being asked if I want to leave a tip, that really puts me in an awkward situation even though I have always left a tip. I’m also unable to buy gift cards anymore. She hires barista’s that are very new at making coffee, my last one was tasteless, had absolutely no flavoring I could detect. I threw it away. I have finally figured out how to get a hot coffee-I have to specify the degree I want, otherwise it’s luke warm. So, Jerrick, I have given you my business for years now but back to BlackRock I go in Gladstone, they make the most awesome coffees that are flavorful, hot & they never ask for a tip. Plus they’re open in the evenings. I’ve always been an advocate of supporting our local businesses but BJ coffee has changed & no longer my go-to coffee kiosk. Such a shame."
"One of my absolute favorite places to get coffee. The only thing I would recommend is bringing your own straw. I really appreciate them going to straws that will help the turtles but, unfortunately they aren’t strong enough to enjoy the wonderful drink."
"I have been coming to this coffee shop since it first opened with the awesome owner Jerrick. Since then the staff, service and drinks have been top notch!! I can’t say enough about Tyra and Adalee who seems to have become my go-to baristas. Gotta love a coffee shop that has an actual espresso machine and not just a machine that does all of the work, I really do think you taste a difference in the drinks!! Another plus is owning The Local means another location to get the great drinks and service!"
"Darci helped me out today and she was fantastic. I asked for a drink that wasn't on the menu and I felt so bad about that. She went OUT OF HER WAY TO CALL HER BOSS TO GET ME MY COFFEE. I am so grateful she went through the effort to get me what I wanted, even though I told her to make me whatever is easiest. Love love love this place. The Gladstone location is so easy and convenient. I 💙blue jays"
"Extremely disheartened to leave a one-star review as this place has become one of our go-to's since moving to Milwaukie and we were regulars; but over the past couple weeks our orders have been consistently incorrect and just plain inedible. The quality of service has significantly degraded in such a short amount of time. Don't know if it's all the sudden new hires or what, but the drinks have been just gross. You order a Rockstar and get anything but (i.e. Red Bull instead, which is cheaper to order, I should mention; so you get slighted as well). Or if you do get the right base for your drink, the cup is just full of syrup and practically no energy drink. Our past few beverages have gone down the drain because they were not drinkable. It really sucks because we loved going here and wanted to support a small, local business versus places like Dutch Bros or Starbucks; but at this point at least we'd know what we're getting for our money, elsewhere. :("
