"Let me start with the space - it's huge. I walked in and wasn't sure where to sit first - they've got these cool indoor tables, comfy looking chairs and a solid outdoor patio out front. The building itself is exactly what you want in Portland, that classic brick exterior that just oozes character. Inside, they've kept that vintage feel with these beautiful wooden ceilings that just warm the whole place up. But the real winner is the windows - massive ones that let in so much natural light that you almost forget we're in Portland. It just feels good in here. I went with an iced mocha and it was smooth. Not too sweet, not too bitter, just that perfect chocolate-coffee balance that actually tastes like quality coffee. Saw people doing all sorts of things here, some friends laughing over lattes, a couple of students studying in the corner and someone quietly working on their laptop. This is definitely one of those spots that works whether you're social or trying to be productive. Honestly, it's got everything you'd want - great drinks, plenty of room and that perfect coffee shop atmosphere that just makes you want to stay a while"

"While scrolling on Instagram, I came across a post about Electrica Coffee in NW Portland closing at the end of January 2026. I’d only ever heard good things about Electrica PDX, so I hopped in my car and went to grab a cup while I still could. Located in NW Portland inside the historic School House Electric & Supply Co. building, the space immediately stands out. High ceilings, an open layout, communal tables, and beautiful hardwood floors make it feel both airy and inviting. Since it was my first visit, I ordered the Electrica signature drink—the Saikuo Latte with whole milk. Simply delicious. Smooth, balanced, and memorable. If you’re reading this in January 2026: go now. Run. You won’t be disappointed. It’s sad to see them closing. I would have loved to add Electrica to my list of top café spots in PDX. You will be missed."

"Excellent spot to meet, work, relax. Phenomenal exposed wood beams and decor provide an experience in itself! I had a matcha latte with “oay” milk. The barista knows. Cheddar biscuit was perfect. And they have a very fine playlist."

My friend and I were very disappointed with the matcha lattes. The barista didn't even ask clarifying questions while taking our orders and gave curt responses when we tried to ask our own. I was hoping it was just an off day, but after seeing similar recent reviews, it feels less like a one-time slip."

"I ordered a bespoke Japanese-inspired matcha latte the other day from a guy dressed like a Snow Peak mannequin behind the counter and requested it in a duck cup that I had seen them post online. He told me they were out even though they had a clean one in plain sight and mentioned that I shouldn’t even know what that is as I wasn’t a “part of duck club”. He asked me “who do you know here?” over and over, and cut me off until I gave up and accepted my normal “custy cup,” as he called it. Best matcha latte of my life but walked away questioning my relevance. Next day update: Found more duck cups"
