"I tried the ham and turkey dish — very delicious — but the experience was elevated by the bartender’s exceptional, flawless service. What surprised me most was how much the building itself adds to the visit. The architecture invites you to pause and look around, with details that give the place character and a sense of history. A memorable stop on every level."

"Ronia and Olivia were so attentive, particularly to our infant: from helping get an appropriate high chair, to also giving a sample of their soup for him. We felt very loved and welcomed. The happy hour black bean nachos were tasty! We also split the turkey special which was a flavorful classic! Glad we split the meal since it was a lot of food! They even had a violinist playing beautifully which entertained our little one as well."

"Had a pretty uncomfortable time at Huber’s Cafe this past Saturday. I made a reservation a few weeks in advance, and was surprised when we were seated directly behind the hostess stand, arguably the worst spot in the restaurant. The tables were too close together and I spent 3/4 of the meal having to sit extremely close and leaned into the table because the guy behind me was leaning back. And this was a long time, because our total meal time was two hours. We saw many people be seated and leave before we did while we were there. It’s the holidays, but I had no clue it would be his busy for an early dinner time of 5:00pm. We also had to suffer through the cold breeze coming in from the hallway because people kept leaving the door open. It’s a very loud space, high ceilings made it impossible to have a conversation. Since we were directly behind the hostess table, we just had the hostesses staring at us and looming nearby, but of course we couldn’t leave any earlier because it took so long to even get our drinks ordered, let alone our dinner and check. And the food was ok, a little lacking on flavor. Our server was super nice, she was the best part. The Spanish coffee makers were also very friendly. Overall it was really nice to visit a Portland staple, but I don’t know if the ambience is for me since it was so crowded. Maybe it would be better not during the holidays."

"I went a few months ago for my birthday after hearing about it on KGW around Thanksgiving time. Lived here for years and somehow never heard of Huber's. BIG MISTAKE! Where have you been all my life, Huber's?! From the atmosphere to the customer service to the AMAZING food, and equally amazing over the top Spanish Coffee, Huber's knocks it out of the park. My wife ordered the Turkey Cream Cheese and Cranberry Sandwich, and I ordered the Half and Half which is one part turkey with gravy and one part ham. My dish also came with a side of mashed potatoes with gravy. The turkey was so unbelievably tender and the ham practically melted in my mouth. At some point I knew I was getting full but I did not care at all. Nope. I could've ate more. I'm sure I could've found room for it somewhere in my tummy. In between dinner and dessert my wife ordered herself a Spanish Coffee. If you've seen the various videos here, yes, a bartender does come out and personally make one in front of you. They also light it on fire. It's such a nice touch. And it is every bit delicious as it looks. After our fantastic dinner we had ourselves from scratch made house Pumpkin Pie. Like everything else that night - perfect! It truly topped off one of the best meals, one of the best dining experiences ever. I've heard everything here is as local and fresh as it gets, and it truly shows. I can see why they have been around since 1879. Never ever change Huber's. EVER! Will recommend to everyone I know."
