"My spouse and I found ourselves awake around 1 a.m. and craving coffee, which turned out to be surprisingly hard to satisfy in a city as big as Portland. We noticed that Rose City Coffee Co. was advertised as open, so we decided to head that way. They truly were open 24/7, and the staff was delightful, warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. I ordered a dark mocha while my spouse chose the Mellow Mule, a mocktail. Both were excellent. The dark mocha lived up to its name: rich, bold, and not overly sweet, making it perfect to sip on during a cold night. My spouse said the Mellow Mule had a nice kick and was really flavorful. The vibe was gorgeous. It captured that quintessential Portland feel with a touch of old-school bar charm. There was also a small array of gift-shop-style items lining the entrance that I would love to take a closer look at next time. Highly recommend."

"Very popular Coffee shop, quintessential Portland. Long line for service with a lot of local wares (books, stickers, candies) for sale. The menu is not vast (only half vast) but contains enough choices to satisfy most tastes. They have a corners of the room set up for live music or poetry readings. The baristas are very friendly and knowledgeable. One caution, the is no cash register, they only take plastic. I got the purple haze, which was perfect."

"Great coffee. Super friendly staff. People definitely come here and stay a while so sometimes it’s hard to get a seat. But even the customers are friendly. They have a carefully curated gift shop with cards and trinkets. They use local chocolate brand Whimsy for their mochas (and you can get a dark, spicy mocha). Excellent sandwiches too."
