"I don’t usually write reviews unless I know they make a huge impact on me. So here I am. My first rule of thumb is always taste their black coffee first and if it’s amazing then I branch out. This place is so cute, however their basic drip/black coffee tasted like the beans were a little burnt. My husband does love his basic vanilla latte and sadly that was also not that great. Maybe they had a bad day? Maybe it’s just me? But these are just my two cents as a native Houstonian :)"

"As a coffee lover who drinks exclusively decaf due to health reasons, I can say hands down that Great North roasts the best decaf beans in town. (And I’ve searched!) They are roasted on the regular, whereas many other shops have old crusty beans.They are bagged (and ground) while I wait. They last about two weeks at home. (I use a pour-over method or aero press when traveling.) I will add that at all locations, their staff is friendly and personable and just generally delightful. Love this place!"

"I recently visited the Great North Coffee Shop and had a delightful experience. The espresso I enjoyed was fantastic, thanks to the barista who pulled a wonderful shot of their Tule blend. The overall vibe of the place was perfect for a coffee shop, and the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. My only complaint is that there was an unpleasant smell, reminiscent of a bathroom, which detracted from the otherwise great atmosphere. Despite this, I would still recommend giving this place a try for their excellent coffee and friendly service."

"I got the veggie breakfast sandwich and it was AMAZING! I often struggle to find an affordable yet delicious vegetarian breakfast option and this meets the requirements. Yummy sauce, great veggies and the bun is crispy (but not grate the top of your mouth level) on the outside and soft on the inside. My partner got the ham sandwich and also said it was excellent. The dark drop coffee and the tea is amazing."
