from Google & Yelp"I only tried the cinnamon roll which was pretty good! Wanted to comment on the fact they have an Outdoor version eating space & have changing tables and a stool for little ones to reach the sink to wash their hands in the bathroom. Appreciate the kid friendliness of the space. And right around the corner from a great little park as well! I didn’t see a specific play area when I went in December, but a mom told me that they have it in the summertime. :)"
"The New Deal gets me: offering good food AND good coffee all in one place, at a reasonable price. Gone are the days of going through the drive through and then to brunch, just head to New Deal where you can get it all! The scrambles are exactly what I'm looking for (hearty, with fresh veggies and that delicious chicken apple sausage) and their rotating specials keep things interesting. It's a small detail but I love that they don't skimp on the toast and offer two full slices, and leave the butter and jam on the table. This is also where you'll find some of the most flavorful hot sauces (don't miss the smoked mango habanero), and of course, ketchup. What else could you want? Well, besides table service, but it's a luxury I'm willing to part with. Overall, a new favorite! Go ahead and get yourself a punch card, you'll be needing it!"
"First off the food was amazing. I had the grilled cheese with the tomato soup and chips. I also got the hot cocoa with whipped cream with vanilla. While it was pricey I feel like it was all worth the price tag. Secondly the service was great, everyone was very friendly even though they were busy. Third the atmosphere was your pretty normal coffee shop but again despite them being busy everything was incredibly clean. The only complaint is that there was quite a long wait but that's not thier fault and shows that they're very popular for a reason."
"Certainly the worst breakfast I have ever eaten in the city of Portland, maybe the worst breakfast I have ever eaten in my life. We have eaten here many times over the years. I would never have called it a must eat, but it at least passed the test on the basics. Not the case any longer. Bacon snapped in half and was somehow room temperature, biscuit made me wish I had been given a Pillsbury biscuit cause that would have been closer to a biscuit than what I was served, and the “chicken apple sausage” was like flavored sand poured into a sausage casing. Only saving grace was the dirty chai, it was a revelation worth having again. And my kids did enjoy their French Toast. Dear Owners, it’s time to replace your cooks with a team that knows how to cook breakfast. After years of being a patron, I will not be back. Though I will take home my leftovers, maybe the dogs will eat them."
"Placed a to go order and they didn't include any sauce for a meal that contained 3 different sauces. We called them three times to no answer and eventually left a voicemail to try and rectify the situation. They never called back. Food was incredibly bland without the promised toppings. An expensive way to ruin what could have been a nice weekend brunch."
"We just had a fabulous breakfast here. Don't be fooled by the simple menu. The flavor is great! The potatoes are delicious and the scramble was so good - I..."
