"I really want to like this bakery, but the employees make it impossible due to their terrible customer service, stuck up ‘holier-than-thou’ attitudes and atrocious hygiene. This place has been a consistent disappointment since I first came here two months ago. The baked goods? Phenomenal! Some of the best pastries I’ve ever had and I’ve worked in bakeries…until you watch them handle it. The staff is beyond terrible. The counter help and people on the register don’t use gloves or tongs most of the time, use their phones constantly and don’t wash their hands afterwards in front of customers EVER. Today the person who rang my girlfriend up picked up her cookie with a bare hand after using the register. When called on it, they didn’t apologize but scowled and made an excuse. How that is seen as acceptable by both the employees and the shift manager shows how lax the discipline is there at every single level. I haven’t seen the same person working there more than once except for the woman whom I assume is the head baker, as she is the only one who is constantly rushing around doing tons of work. Everyone else stands around talking or using their phones. New people weekly, each batch more sullen and dirty looking than the last. The awkward, impolite, blank expressioned employees there are the worst. I’m tired of coming in and saying hello and having the people behind the counter stare blankly at me and respond like it’s an annoyance they have to reply. If you don’t want to help customers go get a different job. I’m not asking for a conversation… But free food for SNAP recipients and homeless addicts and a very active board full of leftist/progressive propaganda for the employees and their friends to feel proud of displaying for others to see what great people they all are there. Customer service and hygiene are dead at Sparrow. Give it a pass."

"I hate leaving a review like this, but the past few times I’ve come in, I’ve had to wait an exorbitant amount of time. Today, I waited 15 minutes for a bagel, only to be told it would be an additional 15 minutes because online orders were being prioritized. I was thankfully given a refund, but I don’t understand why customers who come in to support the business are a lower priority than online orders. "We absolutely love sparrow bakery! The bacon breakfast sandwich is one of my favorites! If you’re looking for something sweet, the classic choice is an ocean roll. Think: cinnamon role without the frosting, with an orangey glaze crusting the bottom of the roll. Absolutely delicious and one of their most popular items on the menu!"
