What People Are Saying
from Google"I was here visiting from New York to see From Ashes to New, and I loved my time here! Parking can be spotty, as it is street parking that you pay for, but it’s free after 7pm. The place is a quaint, cozy, dive bar type of feel, as if I’m in someone’s house or living room, and basement- in a good way. The staff was friendly, and if anyone asks, THEY DO HAVE COAT CHECK! I called before leaving the car with my friends, and because someone said over the phone that they didn’t know what coat check was, and said no, we decided to ditch our coats in the car. Upon arrival, we noticed they had a rack for people to hang their coats up!!! We decided not to go back to the car to get our coats, but we wished we were told there was a coat check. The sound was great, but VERY LOUD, so strongly suggest ear plugs- you’ll be fine, and be able to still clearly hear the bands. Drinks are great, and priced VERY FAIR, as the drinks I got were $10 a pop for a Malibu bay breeze. $15 for a double. Where I’m from, drinks for that size are double the price, so I was very happy with the price they set it as. Bathrooms are clean, there’s no food, or snacks to purchase, so do definitely eat before the show. There’s a place up and around the corner from them that have great food, and drinks. Overall, I would definitely come back to this venue if a band I wanted to see is playing here."
"Fun Arts Center with shows. On site brunch was a buffet at Sunday's 'Queens Who Brunch' drag show. Highly entertaining. Food was good and the cash bar was open. Followed later in the afternoon with a tea dance. Fun 😊"
"Would not recommend this venue for concerts. It is managed poorly. Times posted online do not reflect when concerts begin. The post for last night said doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 6:30pm. We figured, get there early because the times don’t seem right. Then, we waited over an hour for the opening bands to begin. The sound people for the venue aren’t good. The first two bands sounded terrible. You couldn’t hear their vocals. It seems like there were more people in the standing room than could reasonably fit. Not enough A/C for a crowd that size. HOT! People were sick and leaving. Next time we will spend a little more money, travel a little further, and go to a nicer venue."
"Great venue in the burg. Tuesday nights is trivia which is always fun. Live shows have been amazing with a mix of local and traveling talent. The staff here are the best!"
"I went to HYP social thing, it was pretty cool! Met some new people. The bathroom had a weird smell though, and there were drawings all over the walls. There's street parking available."
