"Do you love books? Do you get excited about fresh and aromatic Chai lattes on a chilly morning? Well, I say you have to visit Midtown Scholar Bookstore in downtown Harrisburg! I was deeply intrigued by the name of the bookstore and I loved seeing all the books on bookcases encompassing the store from the outside. I enjoy discovering used and gently used literary gems in hidden places! Great prices, too! Once I had gone inside, I was immediately enthralled with everything that I saw at Midtown Scholar Bookstore - the open and very expansive entry way to the sight of the diversity and images of new and used books; the Cafe to the right; and stairways that led to adventure downstairs and upstairs on the upper level brought great excitement for me. My favorite beverage is undeniably the Fireside Chai Latte! Yummy with a sweet and robust flavor and great price! I sauntered throughout the entire independent bookstore and I marveled at the Children's, Art, American History, Fiction, Fantasy, Poetry, Current Events and Nonfiction, and Teen sections for a few hours. The best part for me was the many arresting and memorable quotes that were prominently displayed from the living and dead writers and authors throughout the bookstore. I loved that. The Midtown Scholar Bookstore is a very welcoming place in downtown Harrisburg and there are small tables on the upper level to enjoy a latte and read or talk with friends. Superb gem, indeed!"

"Not just a bookstore, but a destination. An outstanding collection of new and used books covering every category you could want. With a selection covering recent and popular books to obscure old books, local histories, manga, poetry, textbooks, and everything in between. A cafe provides drinks and light food with limited seating for you to sit and enjoy the beautiful interior and wrap around mural. We will certainly be back!"

"Midtown Scholars is a jewel. It makes me hate owning a Kindle. It makes me regret every penny I've ever sent to Jeff Bezos. Midtown is what bookshops SHOULD be, what they used to be, what they still could be. I got a great copy of Wise Blood by Flannert O'Conner for $8 and a signed copy of Redshirts by John Scalzi for $19. I had a quick convo with a fellow shopper about Dubliners. My kids read half a book each in the kids' nook (which is -- helpfully for everyone involved -- quite sequestered from the rest of the store). I added about six books to my TBR. Don't get me wrong -- the prices are up there, but there's a premium for keeping places like Midtown alive, but it is worth it. If going in that place doesn't fill you with warmth and happiness, you don't like books (I think)."

"My recent visit to Harrisburg led me to the Midtown Scholar Bookstore, and what an extraordinary discovery it was! Recommended by a new acquaintance, this bookstore far exceeded any expectations I had. As a lover of books, I'm always drawn to independent bookstores, but the Midtown Scholar truly stands out. Stepping inside is like entering a literary labyrinth. This isn't just a bookstore; it's a sprawling, multi-level haven brimming with both new and used books. The sheer scale is impressive, with a captivating array of stacks and rooms that invite endless exploration. I particularly enjoyed the dedicated pop culture room, which boasted an impressive collection of graphic novels, from popular titles to timeless classics like The Sandman. The children's section was also delightful, and while the section markers could be a bit clearer, the joy of stumbling upon hidden gems on various tables throughout the store was part of the charm. The heart of the Midtown Scholar pulsates with an eclectic mix of literature, spanning classic works, well-loved used books, and current titles that spark curiosity and encourage new perspectives. I easily spent three hours lost among the shelves, and truthfully, I could have stayed much longer. This wasn't just a shopping trip; it was an immersive experience that reignited my passion for reading. Beyond the incredible selection, the atmosphere at the Midtown Scholar is truly special. The bookstore attracts a wonderfully diverse crowd of people from all walks of life—from elegantly dressed individuals to those casually Browse, each person engrossed in their own literary pursuit. The energy was vibrant and welcoming. I'm already planning my next visit, eager to dedicate an entire day to delving deeper into its vast collection and adding more treasures to my personal library. The Midtown Scholar is more than just a bookstore; it's a testament to the enduring power of books and a truly amazing place to get lost in the world of words."
