"First off, it’s important to note that Steel Penny does not allow customization of menu items. They’re very rigid about substitutions or adjustments, which feels a bit off-putting and inflexible, especially for those who like to tweak their orders. That said, the Firenze sandwich was phenomenal. It comes with Burrata Cheese, Basil Pesto (nut-free), Arugula, Tomato, Balsamic Glaze, Sicilian EVOO, Salt, and Black Pepper, and you can choose between a chicken cutlet or Prosciutto di Parma. I went with the chicken cutlet, and it was an excellent choice. The rustic Italian bread roll was the perfect base, crusty yet soft enough to hold everything together. Every bite was flavorful, fresh, and well-balanced. I also tried the Rose Gold Detroit-Style Pizza, which was very good. The crust was thick but still light, and the vodka sauce was delicious. I added pepperoni, which definitely elevated the flavor. The only real downside was the size as it’s only six small slices, and for $20, that feels overpriced. Lastly, I ordered the Pumpkin Spice Latte. I asked for it extra hot, but it came out barely warm. The flavor was fine, but I would have enjoyed it much more if it had been served steaming hot as requested. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars. I’d definitely go back for the chicken cutlet sandwiches as they’re worth the trip. I’d hesitate to get another pizza at that price point, and I’d skip the latte next time."

"My book club tried out this local place for this month's meeting, it was not crowded when we arrived around 10am and we didn't feel rushed, eating and chatting until noon. Tried out the egg, bacon, cheese on a foccacia, I was a little hesitant at first, but it was delicious! The hot chocolate was really good as well, don't skip the whipped cream on top. The only critique I had was I wish the music had been a little quieter so we could hear each other better, but I do think someone turned it down about an hour after we arrived as more people arrived. I liked the atmosphere, and the layout made us feel like we had a private room instead of being in the bigger room of tables. I think we found a new meeting spot! (I did email them ahead of time to make sure it was ok for our book club to meet here, and they had suggested we move our meeting up to 10am instead of 11am as it would get busy closer to lunch time. It did get a little crowd, but it wasn't super crowded and we would've easily been able to get a table. I'm not sure if being Dec is part of that, or if that's how it normally is on a Sunday morning.)"

"This is such a hidden local gem. The Detroit style pizza is so good and so filling. Decent beer selection and well made drinks. Smaller menu but well executed. Great to stop for a coffee and pastry or a laid back date night. Service has been consistently great too. I have enjoyed every visit here."

"[Update] I came back to try out the coffee and toasts because everyone has been saying they’re so great… and they weren’t lying! Deliciousss!!! And customizable* which is key! What a Cute Place! We devoured the salad before I could even take a picture! But the pizza was sooooo good, it’s light and fluffy and so full of flavor! Seriously going back for more"

"The Shredder Detroit pizza was one of the best and most interesting pizzas I've ever had. Brussel sprouts are surprisingly good on pizza and it hit literally every flavor possible at once but really balanced. Also the blueberry cobbler latte was so good! Only downside to this place is the parking lot is kinda hard to get in/out."
