What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"The Korean fusion bulgogi bagel here is absolutely delicious—flavorful and perfectly heated. Definitely worth trying! However, I have to take off one star for the iced latte. The coffee with milk was overly bitter, lacking aroma, and unfortunately so unpleasant that we couldn’t finish it and had to throw it away. I wouldn’t recommend ordering the coffee here, but the bagel is a must-try!"
"I make an hour long trip every weekend to Café Walnut just for their matcha lattes: I literally haven’t found a matcha that is better than theirs, it’s the perfect level of sweetness and flavor. Everyone here is really welcoming and friendly, the ambiance is really great and good for work/ studying, and the food is so so good too! I recommend the BB salad as well 😊 Def worth a try?"
"Stopped in after a doctor's appointment to grab some breakfast. It's easy to walk by the place and not realize it's there. The service was slow but friendly. They have a really nice seating area upstairs. Lots of sun and artwork. I had a toffee nut latte which was disappointing. The espresso was burned and the latte didn't have much flavor. The bagel sandwich on the otherhand was delicious! A nice soft everything bagel with real egg and sausage. Very tasty. I will probably try it again at some point to give the coffee another shot."
"What a find! The irregular steps to the basement leads to a cozy cafe space and bright eating area upstairs. Don’t miss the board of photos of local dog friends! 😍 Had breakfast, but would like to come back for the lunch menu."
"I have a long list of other cafes to check out, but then I remember that Cafe Walnut exists and just come here instead. This place is just such a part of the fabric of Philadelphia that it never even occurred to me to review it until now. Their sausage (or bulgogi) egg and cheese on a croissant with gochujang is the best breakfast sandwich in the city, and it’s not even close. Don’t trust any top 10 list if this isn’t #1. The bulgogi beef BB Salad is proof that spring mix doesn’t have to suck. Unfortunately the rice is often mushy, but when it’s right it is RIGHT. Also enjoy the walnut redbean mochi, honey yuzu green tea, and adorable mochi breads when available. Service is quick and friendly, upstairs is a cozy spot with outlets and free WiFi where people camp out on their laptops. Check it out, but please leave the last chestnut mochi bread for me."
"This was my first time visiting Cafe Walnut. As a heads up, the entrance is on the basement level and you have to walk down stairs to get inside. Be careful..."
