What People Are Saying
from Google"Review – Dim Sum House (Philadelphia) Dim Sum House in Philadelphia is a great Chinese restaurant with a fun and efficient way of ordering: you get a paper menu and a pencil, and simply check off what you want. It’s quick, easy, and perfect for trying multiple dishes without any fuss. The food comes out fast and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. The eggplant with sauce was delicious, perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The chow fan (fried rice) was solid, and the pork dumplings were excellent —juicy, well-seasoned, and definitely the highlight of the meal. Prices are very affordable, especially for the quality and portions, making it a great spot for a casual meal with friends or family. 📍 Conclusion: Dim Sum House is a must-visit in Philly if you’re craving authentic Chinese comfort food in a relaxed setting. Great flavors, fast service, and excellent value for money. ⭐ Overall rating: 9/10 🥟 Best: the pork dumplings and eggplant dish. 🍚 Worst: nothing major to point out. 💸 Price: cheap and absolutely worth it."
"The atmosphere hits that sweet spot—there’s an easy, social hum that makes it perfect for a big table of friends, yet the lighting is gently dim and warm enough that a two-person dinner still feels intimate. Conversations don’t get swallowed by noise; you can hear each other without shouting. Menus can sprawl, but this one has range without chaos: plenty to explore, clearly laid out, and a mocktail section that feels thoughtful rather than sugary. Prices are kind to the wallet given the portion sizes. My must-order lineup starts with the scallion pancakes—the clear headliner. The shrimp lo mein is comfort done right: soft, chewy noodles, well-seared shrimp, and a sauce that coats rather than drowns. And a new favorite is the egg custard—silky and softly set, lightly sweet."
"Some of the soup was tasty but salty that day. I don't want to judge the soup on one experience. I totally enjoyed the barbecued spare ribs. A sweet, savory Asian spice mix and tender, fall off of the bone texture. The beef pancakes were another good choice. The soup dumplings and Peking Duck look very delicious. I would go back and try both and more of the special dumplings. The service was excellent, I made a note to myself to mention the waiter and his excellent service."
"Wow! Really incredible dim sum place. They serve a variety of options from big portion meals to small platters. I would recommend trying their durian, it’s not commonly sold in restaurants, but it was really good!"
"Long time, downtown, mildly upscale, chinese restaurant. Used to be really cool and fancy back in the day, now it's just kinda pedestrian. Not that it's bad, it's still pretty good. Food is good, not the greatest, but very good. Prices aren't exorbitant but not cheap. Service is a mixed bag; they have a staff of Gen Z hipsters who are either disaffected and act as if they dont want to be there, or they're veryq hospitable and professional. The restaurant is spacious with lots of seating and you can get a sense of how cool the place used to look back in the day. Been there twice recently (my girl loves tye Dan Dan Noodles), overall a good experience, not great, just good."
