"For a 5 star hotel and the price I would expect a whole lot more. Rooms were big and nice but AC didn't work and super hot in room. Breakfast and front desk service extremely slow. Kinda disappointed:("

"Check-in times not honored ... supposed to be 3p but they said they would have to call when the room was actually ready. Charged for a breakfast they didnt provide, which the desk clerk said would be credited, and then they disputed it with Amex and the charge wasnt fixed. Rooms are tired, service is poor. Location is very good ... but we would never stay here again."

"My wife and I stayed at the Rittenhouse near the end of 2025 through the AmEx Fine Hotels and Resorts program. We had a very pleasant stay in a great location, until we got our car back from the valet. There was a sizable dent in the back hatch door that wasn’t there when we dropped it off. We informed the staff immediately and were connected with Towne Park, the parking company that the Rittenhouse contracts with. Thus began a month of being ignored and ultimately being told that our claim was denied because the damage “pre-existed our stay.” Towne Park refuses to provide evidence to back up that assertion, though the front lobby area is heavily camera’d. The Rittenhouse has not responded to any of this; Towne Park indicated that we need to file our own claim with our insurance company to resolve the issue, and “graciously” agreed to refund the $70 valet fee after being asked. Until the Rittenhouse discontinues working with Towne Park, I cannot recommend staying there, even with the AmEx benefit. If you do a little digging, we are not the first people to have an issue like this, and I suspect we won’t be the last."

"Won't come back. Rooms are nice, but employees are clueless. Offered turn down service, none came, had 2 rooms and the desk said they were identical. Not true! Had to move our stuff from one room to another. Lacroix restaurant was even more disappointing. Over seasoned (salty) and under seasoned dishes, poor presentation, etc."
