What People Are Saying

"The people were just wonderful they were crowded but they let me relax and enjoy my food. They were happy to guide me as well as educate me on anything I wanted to learn about related to the food. I got a recommendation for the Turkish sausage panini. It was filled with cubes of sausage similar to pepperoni but more cumin forward-which I happen to love. It had copious amounts of cheese and cooked to perfection with just a kiss of golden brown on the cheese, with soft ciabatta with slightly crisp exterior. What also pleasantly surprised me that was that it was not greasy. It came with a very lightly dressed side salad which was perfect to break up the richness of the sandwich. I had a pistachio latte that had notes of cherry flavor. I have also enjoyed the pot pomegranate tea. A light refreshing juiciness with lemon zest- but not too sour. Just delightful. They were busy but I did not have to wait. I am already planning my trip back for the chocolate pistachio crepes! Do you think tomorrow would be too soon?"

"I really love Alihan‘s. Celebrated birthdays at their main location. So when I heard about their breakfast spot, I knew I had to check it out. Of course, it did not disappoint. I got to try their menemen, ayran, and sweet pogaca breakfast pastry. Everything was wonderful across the broad. Truly one of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. The menemen was so flavorful. Tons of tomatoes, some spice, some other vegetables, fresh eggs. And the lovely fresh bread that accompanies it is just out of this world. So soft and perfect. Soaks up that delicious sauce. You must try this. The pogaca, I initially thought might be basic or overpriced, but I was proven wrong. It was so, so good. Another must try. So soft as well. I had the sweet version with honey. The honey is excellent. Even on its own this pastry is amazing, and it’s just next level with the honey. Finally, the ayran. It was at this spot that I discovered I love ayran. It is just so perfect. Amazing portion, great price too. Best balance of saltiness and creaminess. So so so good. I can’t recommend this place more highly. Definitely have to try it out for authentic Turkish breakfasts in Pittsburgh!"

"A “please seat yourself” sign might be a good thing here? When I asked the person at the counter for a table, they asked me to order standing up at the counter, which I did: a breakfast entree and a salad. Then I took a seat an open table. Some diners that arrived after me were brought menus and enjoyed ordering from their table. Ok, fair enough. They also received a water bottle and water glass before I did. My entree and salad then came out to my table without utensils or a napkin. They were brought to me “a few moments later.” I had to ask for water a second time, even though I did ask for water when I ordered at the counter. The salad was somewhat dry and underdressed although the chopped nuts were a nice touch. The yolks in the over easy eggs could have been a bit runnier, but that’s a personal preference and it’s not like I ordered it that way. The sliced baguette bread was fresh and high quality. I usually don’t tip for food I order standing up, but I did tip modestly this time, even though the service wasn’t great. I would consider coming back for a return visit. 10/13/2025 update: response to the management’s response to my review: I’m not quite sure why your server would think I wanted to order take-out since I mentioned in the 2nd sentence of my review above that I asked the server for a table, and indicated to them that I wanted to dine-in."

"We came to Pittsburgh for the Brandnew Design seminar and chose this place for breakfast — we absolutely loved it. Watching Americans scoop up menemen from a copper pan with bread and seeing people enjoy Turkish coffee was the best proof of how beautifully they’re introducing Turkish breakfast to Pittsburgh. Being Turkish, I can confidently say the breakfast was truly delicious and authentic. Yunus Bey’s hospitality made the experience even better. If you’re in Pittsburgh, definitely have breakfast here — and don’t forget to order hot tea in a teapot!"

"This place is soooo good. It tastes sooooo fresh and like the food is made with love. The food gives you a great taste of culture. We had the breakfast for two and ended up stuffed. Came back a second time and added the beef roast to the dish. We also ordered the carrot zucchini pancakes and again amazing. Asked for a cappuccino and it wasn’t my favorite, but of course the specialty Turkish coffee was so delicious! We sent our friends over and they also enjoyed the breakfast for two on a different day. Thank you for the amazing food."
