from Google & Yelp"Georgie’s Corner Café is very much worth the extra stroll down Walnut Street. A lovely cafe in Shadyside, they offer coffee, pastry, breakfast, and lunch options that take usual cafe fare up a notch and add some flair. My husband and I stopped in for lunch and struggled to make decisions with so many options sounding wonderful, and the woman working the counter was delighted to make recommendations and help us reach a decision. I actually ordered her recommendations of the potato & egg hash bowl and the maple blueberry corn cookie. Both choices were more unique and absolutely scrumptious flavor combinations, and I would highly recommend them. I had a lot of leftovers from the potato & egg hash bowl also, so I got a second meal out of it. My husband enjoyed a pain au chocolat and the chicken caesar salad. Both of his choices were also delicious, but we agreed that while the salad was very high quality and the chicken was cooked perfectly, the $18 price point was a bit high for the serving size. The cafe had water cups and a filling station available, so you don’t need to buy a coffee if you just want water with your food. I would highly recommend making a stop at Georgie’s Corner Cafe if you’re in the area!"
"Go for the incredible breakfast sandwich on a biscuit, skip the wildly overpriced flavored lattes and pastries. Georgie’s is a cute cafe that is serving delicious food but is incredibly overpriced. A flavored latte and small pastry should not cost $12 sans tip. As a New Yorker I’m used to price gouging but jeeze. If the prices are reflecting paying their staff a livable wage (who by the way act completely uninterested in the customers even when given a compliment) then they should maybe advertise that. I’d feel a bit better about the prices if that was the case. By the way the sandwich is $15, $20 if you want to add 3 measly pieces of bacon."
"Georgie's Corner Cafe should not be slept on! They serve responsibly sourced and locally roasted coffee and espresso, bake scratch-made pies, pastries, and cookies, and offer some of the best, most thoughtfully crafted breakfast and lunch dishes. You can truly taste the love and incredible flavors in every meal. Their goal is to provide the local community with a warm, inviting space to gather, dine, work, and create together—and they do just that. The interior is aesthetically pleasing—simple, modern, and crisp—while the outdoor seating is perfect for warm days in Shady Side. I tried a few items, and everything was fantastic! Drink: I had a hot latte with maple brown sugar—just the right amount of sweetness, and it totally hit the spot. Bakery: Their new coconut toffee cupcake was delightful—white chocolate, toffee chips, and toasted coconut mixed into the batter, topped with coconut buttercream, toasted coconut, and adorable little chocolate eggs. I also tried the honey butter corn cookie—a buttery corn cookie topped with honey and buttercream—OMG, wow! Food: The chicken Caesar salad was fresh and flavorful, with grilled chicken, romaine, parmesan cheese, herbed croutons, and Caesar dressing. But my absolute favorite was the asparagus & ricotta toast—homemade focaccia toasted with fresh ricotta, sumac-spiced asparagus, lemon zest, and crispy shallots. The staff is extremely sweet and friendly, and I can't wait to go back. Highly recommend this spot to everyone!"
"Went back to Georgie’s since it has had fairly solid food but this time the food was lacking. I ordered the cranberry grilled cheese which sadly really left a lot to be desired in terms of taste and fulfillment and did not seem worth the money spent."
"Georgie's is a wonderful cafe with great coffee, pastries & friendly staff! They let us reserve a table for a special birthday celebration and the owner took great care of us. We'd highly recommend stopping in. They even have some whimsical folk art chickens from us on display!"
"Really great coffee and pastries! They're always pretty busy (since they're so good!), so haven't gotten the chance to get food yet, but I can vouch for..."
