from Google"Love this urban city store, but there is one BIG problem: the self-checkout stations require the customer to be a member of the Giant Eagle card-issued crowd. So, if you are not, to purchase any item one must use the human cashier. Today, there was only one, and the line was huge. Chose to forfeit, abandoned my cart, and left the store. Why the need for the self-checkout stations usable only by members of the Giant Eagle card-issued crowd? Target doesn't require it. Walmart doesn't require it. Result: shopping is being done elsewhere."
"How about changing your online hours if you're not actually open when your online hours say you are. Got there at 6:30 am. . Online says they open at 6am. . Another store with incorrect online hours. Arrived to locked doors. Why is every place of business incompetent?? Just watched someone else walk up to locked doors also. How is this an issue in 2025?!?"
"I visited Giant Eagle today to take advantage of the 15% discount offered to all Pittsburgh residents due to the recent severe thunderstorm. Unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. After I paid for my items, the cashier informed me that she had forgotten to apply the discount. Instead of correcting the transaction, she handed me a coupon that said “Valid today only” and told me to come back another day to use it. When I pointed out the coupon’s same-day restriction and asked for either the 15% refund or a full return so I could repurchase with the discount, she refused—without offering any apology. I then asked to speak with a manager. The manager was helpful and immediately processed the refund without issue, which made me question why the cashier insisted I had to return the next day in the first place. Afterward, I noticed that the most recent review at this location was also from an Asian customer who described similarly disrespectful treatment, even though it involved a different cashier. This pattern is deeply concerning. As an Asian customer, I can’t help but feel that there may be a bias or discriminatory attitude toward Asian shoppers at this store. I sincerely hope Giant Eagle investigates this and provides proper training to its staff. Discrimination—whether intentional or not—should never be tolerated."
"The directions did not take me to the parking lot. They took me to the front of the store on a very busy street with limited street parking."
"By far the worst of all the GE locations in the city. Don't expect the produce you buy here to last more than 24 hours before rotting."
