What People Are Saying
from Google"I dare say (ok, others have too!) that Mezcal has the best tacos in Pittsburgh. While it's a cozy spot so you may have to wait during busy hours for a seat, I promise it's worth it! I ordered a mezcalrita that was perfectly made, along with chips and salsa and three of the best tacos I have had in quite some time. All of them (al pastor, chorizo and bistec) were lovingly double wrapped in delicious, warm corn tortillas and when I say overstuffed...they were overstuffed! This place gives you your money's worth. Seriously. I haven't had any food beyond the tacos and chips/salsa but they are worth it. Fun fact: if you use the Upside app (and you should) you can also get 6% cash back on your bill here!"
"Authentic Mexican food and so good! For a busy Friday night, our food came so fast! 10/10 recommend!"
"Our seemed amazing at first! He gave us samples of the papas guizadas, Nepales, and the calabactias, before we ordered them! He was friendly and accommodating. After we ordered our entrees and our food was delivered, he never checked back to see how we liked our meals. I guess the server went on break because the bartender cleared our plates and brought us our checks. The quesabirra tacos were flavorless and soggy with grease. I've always wanted to try them, thought they would be cheesy and crispy. Looked for some salt and pepper to season them up but none on the table and no server around to ask for some. My mother ordered the calabactias, a vegetarian dish made with squash and said it was okay. I had a margaritas and it was good but nothing out of the ordinary. I mentioned to the bartender that the Quesabirra tacos were soggy and he told me that's because they are more like a quesadilla! Lol First and last time we will eat here."
"This is one of our new favorite go-to places when we're hanging out on Butler. The drinks are absolutely fantastic (and I'm particular when I'm out). We love experimenting with their different specials. And the food is out of this world. Plus, the atmosphere is perfect for conversation!"
"Unfortunately they heavily rely on the processed “queso” for many of their dishes rather than authentic Mexican cheeses. It makes different entrees taste the exact same with that sort of fake flavor and overpowering the other ingredients. Was so excited to see a molé dish and then it was just filled with essentially Velveeta. Great cocktails though!"
