"It was pretty busy when I visited so that did put a little bit of a damper on things but it was still a great experience. Hand-down this is probably one of the best "themed" cafes in the city. The theme is.... I guess you could say vinyl/records? It features warm tones throughout the place while two record players spin near the baristas and their music comes out through some nice speakers. It leads to a very cozy ambience. And the coffee is pretty good too! They source from Passanger in Lancaster, PA for their coffee and tea and that's a pretty good roaster! Not exactly local but within the state so you can expect the coffee to be pretty fresh and not stale. Drink-wise I had a cortado and it was a perfect balance between the milk and the espresso. Not too much not too little. The shot was extracted very well as I didn't taste much acridness that would be associated with an overextraction. Overall: Pretty good! A nice addition to the Squirrel Hill neighborhood."

"Headed out early Saturday morning to Squirrel Hill to check out not just the coffee, but the ambiance as well. I sat at the counter just watching and taking it all in. In front of me are 2 turntables spinning vinyl's. Subtle enough that you can hear it, and so lightly as not to drown out the conversations going on. it was fascinating to watch the "mixologists" at work! I could do that for an hour. Perfection! I was intrigued to say the least. Even a pour over, was a science! I have been in many many coffee shops and I have yet to see one work like this. The flow of customers was non stop and so was the staff. It is a cozy situation inside and the best place to people watch, IF you can take your eyes away from the whole coffee making experience. They have it down to a science! Def will be returning! My next visit will be taking advantage of the food menu that looked sooooo good! You wont be disappointed."

"Seriously no exaggeration when I say this, this is my new favorite coffee shop in all of Pittsburgh. If you’re traveling from out of town or a local looking for your next new spot, you HAVE to visit Pre Amp Coffee Studio ASAP. I was blown out of the water in all capacities (food, service, atmosphere). The Smokey Robinson is one of the best coffees I’ve ever had !!!!!! 1000000/10 & danny is SO NICE !!!"

"Wow, this a great new gem for Pittsburgh. Top notch coffee AND amazing sandwiches! Plus the vibes are incredible with great staff, decor, and music. Don’t be afraid of the prices, with this place you get more than what you paid for."

"Went with a group of friends to try multiple drinks at once. Here were my thoughts and ranking from high to low. 1) Poppy Maple Bourbon Latte: This was the best drink by far. It was perfectly executed and had a distinct bourbon flavor. I have no negative comments on this. 2) Mocha Latte: A very solid mocha, and this is someone who is picky about mochas. For some tastes it wasn't sweet enough, but there's brown sugar available to those who need it. On the milk choclaty-ness scale, it'd be a 3/5 on flavor strength (a 5 being a perfectly executed hot chocolate). 3) Smokey Robinson: This was my drink of choice and it was lack luster at best. Of all flavors, the salt was the most detectable, which added a nice taste to the drink. But, in my opinion the black pepper and Smokey flavors should've been the star of the show. Initially I thought that there just wasn't enough black pepper in the drink, until I got to the bottom of the drink and noticed a layer of it. So when I tasted the black pepper, I realized that it itself wasn't a strongly flavored black pepper. On the note of smokiness, the salt could probably never provide this, and they would probably need to add a drop of liquid smoke into the drink. 4) Dulce de Leche Macchiato: Of all drinks, typically with Dulce de Leche you expect it to be sweet. Its a very sweet confection with a distinct flavor. This had neither of those components. The description says, its the better version of a "caramel macchiato you order at starbucks"...but I fear that was not the case. Lots of room for improvement with this drink. 5) Chai Latte: I personally didn't get to taste this drink but my friend who ordered it would give it a solid 4/5, and that he sweetened it to taste. Overall, the atmosphere made the drinks. The vibes in my opinion were the main appeal during my visit. I would come back for that, their food, and to try other drinks, especially their non alcoholic & cold brew options."
