What People Are Saying
from Google"Absolutely fantastic place! I was on a solo trip and stopped here for a dinner and a drink and the female bartender was just so so good. Super professional, amazing mixed drinks and made me feel at ease while sitting by myself at the bar. The food was delicious and very flavourful and the atmosphere - you can feel people just love being here. A wonderful treat far away from home!"
"Very modern and good atmosphere restaurant for some pretty and delicious drinks and shareables! Vandal had phenomenal service, a lovely seasonal menu that is super fresh, and a nice look! The drinks were great with a lot of fun options with different flavorings you don’t get everywhere! The appetizers, especially the farmers cheese with fresh vegetables as well as the tuna pate were out of this world! The steak frites live up to the hype, with an excellent sauce, as well as the Halibut with ratatouille being hands down the best out of everything. Unfortunately, the gnocchi was quite undercooked, but the sauce was quite good. The other big miss was the dessert, with the panacotta being so thick, it was difficult to break apart with a spoon. The cake was a bit better, but not really worth your time or money. Overall, the drinks, shareables, and most of the entrees were really great, a nice, upscale but still casual restaurant to go with friends!"
"The food was so well-prepared, with unique flavor combinations that elevate it past just another ‘new American’ dining spot. Their tight menu prevents decision fatigue and caters to a lot of palates! The menu also changes and reflects seasonal local ingredients. Their wine program is also great, with a focus on Sonoma / west coast wines at reasonable prices. Finally, the service was so incredible! Loved everything."
"An amazing experience! It was our anniversary and we were treated exceptionally well. We had a champagne toast and a special dessert. Each dish from the snacks, to small plates and main dishes all had a different spin on familiar cuisine. It is a must try. Excellent service and exceptional food!"
"I have dined at The Vandal close to 15 times and can confidently say, it is one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. The menu rotates frequently, with new dishes hitting every few weeks, so even as a somewhat regular, there’s always something new and intriguing to try. The oysters are always fresh, the steak tartare is always executed perfectly, and the flavors, ingredients and complexity of every other menu item is always superb. I love that they feature thoughtful non-alcoholic cocktails to round out their alcoholic counterparts. I love the natural lighting and minimalistic vibe. The service is always welcoming, kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. I do suggest making a reservation."
