from Google"I’m writing this review so everyone is aware of the experience we just had. Last week, we stopped by this place on my birthday and really liked it. However, tonight, when we simply decided to go out for a drink, we were honestly grateful that we managed to leave without being physically assaulted. The weather was freezing. The moment I stepped just one step inside the door, a man at the entrance—who I thought was on the phone—started yelling at us for several minutes. We weren’t even given a chance to explain the situation. His aggressive hand gestures, raised voice, and threatening behavior forced us to leave in fear. It felt like his only intention was to provoke a confrontation. The staff’s attitude was rude, unprofessional, and disturbingly aggressive. Just a week ago, we were able to sit inside with a baby, yet today we were almost attacked simply for taking one step inside without immediately showing our IDs. This place has now become somewhere I wouldn’t even walk past again. I will be sharing this experience with everyone around me so no one else has their night ruined by being shouted at and intimidated."
"Great local place to hang out and watch the games. Bartender from another place recommended we go here and it did not disappoint! Friendly people even with our 2 Bengals fans in tow, excellent customer service, and the food was delicious and reasonably priced!"
"Bouncer kicked us out not sure why. (no explanation- I happened to be with my black friend?) Avid drinkers, and the bartender/buss boy ripped a bottle out of my hand. Not a great experience start to finish. Maybe go if you just need a quick shot between strip and Lawrenceville on a journey."
"I was walking around while my girlfriend was getting her nails done and decided to stop here for a drink. I had no idea what kind of bar it was but it seemed like a cool spot to watch some baseball. Bartender was nice at first but after I asked for a drink they couldn't make, the mood changed and I'm not exactly sure why. I worked as a server/bartender for many years so I'm always make sure I treat all service workers with an abundance of kindness and patience. So, I know I wasn't being rude. I was perfectly fine with getting a beer instead. I tried making conversation but I was met with a brick wall. Others were making conversation just fine, so I know it was mainly a thing with me. I had some apps but they seemed like they were brought in by either Sysco or US Foods, so nothing special. Asked for the check and after I paid I made sure to say thanks and to have a good rest of the day, but was once again met with no response. Every other person that was paid their tabs was met with a smile and a friendly exchange. This seems like an alright spot, but my experience left me feeling upset. Not mad, but I was just looking for a nice spot to chill and didn't mean to make anyone upset just by asking for a drink."
"This one hurts to write. William Penn was once my favorite bar. Since moving to the new location a few years ago, I've had nothing but negative experiences. Just now, I asked if I could order food and was just told no. I'm not intoxicated, I wasn't rude. They just cannot handle their front of house with their existing kitchen. Don't waste your time."
