What People Are Saying
from Google"Returning my son to PSU after the Thanksgiving break and we decided to stop in for brunch. We did not have a reservation but timed it well. We were seated in the main bar area within a few minutes of arrival. 10-15 minutes later the lobby was filled with people looking for a table. Not sure if they were understaffed that day, we waited a bit for our waitress to take our order. My coffee came to the table when I went to the bathroom, no creamer was left. The food came out in a reasonable time, I had the blueberry pancakes and my son the waffle. The food was very good, they do use real Maple Syrup which I appreciate. The price was reasonable for the quality of food. There is enough on the menu to satisfy most people. I like the decor of the restaurant, they had it decorated for the holidays."
"Good appetizers, entrees were OK. The steak frites was not that great. Steak was overcooked (asked for med rare vs well done in picture) and without the sauce it would be uneditable. Dry and just generally not great. The service was disappointing. Our waiter really killed the vibe at our table. Not sure why. ASG upstairs has better food and service. Corner room is more like an Applebees"
"Atmosphere makes the food taste extra special. Location, interior design, comfort, and service are the intangibles that provide an exceptional experience."
"My son and I visited on a bitterly cold Saturday during a college tour. To be honest, I feared this was an over-hyped place that was simply popular because of its prominent location close to the university. Couldn’t be further from the truth. The charming place just turned 100 years old, and it’s beautiful and quirky interior speaks to that history - just gorgeous. And even though it was slam-packed, the service was super friendly (had a nice convo with the front desk gent, our server was awesome and prompt) - and the food, wow. I had the Bloody Mary (oooh yes) and the steak & eggs (chorizo on the steak, perfectly done eggs), and my son had a powerhouse Rueben. Do NOT skip this place if you’re in town!"
"Best smoked salmon sandwich I ate in State College. Breads were very loaded with lots of cream cheese, salmon, arugula, and pickled red onion. It was normally coming with chips but I upgraded it to with salad and salad was also very nice with tasty olive oil/balsamic dressing. My Mediterranean stomach had a real fest. Will come again soon. It was a very busy time with THON but my order still was not late."
