What People Are Saying
from Google & Yelp"While in Fox Point Providence, we stopped into Silver Star Bakery. We got some Portuguese sweetbread, RI pizza straps, & a popseco com quiejo st jorge. The breads were super fluffy, & the pizza strips were tasty."
"Unfortunately, some of the worst espresso I’ve ever had. They really need to clean their machine or learn how to pull it. Tasted dirty. Papa secos are good. Pastel de nata was not. Too cold."
"One of best donuts I have had many years! We were there bright and early and passed through Providence on our way to MA. We were stunned to see it was a real bakery with higher standards (there are fewer around than one would think these days). The donuts were fresh out of the oven and we also had a cinnamon roll. Both were moist, delicious and fresh. Highly recommend especially early in morning!"
"We came here upon a visit because it had high ratings. This place did not disappoint. The woman who helped us was very friendly and nice. I tried to speak a tiny bit of Portuguese. She was able to set me up with authentic desserts for my aunt who's from Portugal. They were delicious. We all enjoyed them. Very happy we stopped here to try out their yummy treats."
"Stumbled upon this place and I am such a fan!!! Everything looks so good it’s hard to choose just one thing to get. This bakery is definitely no frills and great quality and value. The latte they have is a galao, which is the Portuguese latte and is stronger so be careful. I’ve tried the elephant ears, cinnamon twist, blueberry turn over, egg tart, and all of them are phenomenal. Slowly I will try all of them."
"I love a good bakery and will always stop at the popular ones in the various places I visit. We made a trek to this side of the neighborhood just to come..."
