What People Are Saying
from Google"I had to come back after an event to see the daytime vibes. I love the outdoor patio space and they have the best grilled cheese sandwiches! I grabbed a large croissant and salted caramel iced latte and hung out for a bit to catch up on some work. They have a good amount of seating inside if it’s too cold outside. The staff here are all very nice and it’s definitely gonna be a go to spot for me in DT Charleston."
"Kudu Coffee and Craft Beer is a gem in Charleston! The location is perfect, tucked away but still close to everything. The outdoor seating area is one of the best around, with plenty of shade, a relaxing ambiance, and great vibes all around. Whether you're grabbing a fresh coffee in the morning or sipping on a craft beer in the afternoon, the drinks are always on point. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and quick to make great recommendations. It's the kind of place where you can lose track of time. Definitely one of my favorite spots in the city!"
"For over a decade this place was SPECIAL. You felt enveloped in the warmth of Charleston having a place to unwind and enjoy the day. The place didn’t have wifi which let you just enjoy your book or conversation. Since the new owners came in that feeling is gone. The coffee is mediocre and not presented with care the way it once was. A medium latte is $8. They added so many chairs to the quaint patio that its aesthetically unpleasant and theres no room to enjoy oneself. The decor is atrocious and paint color uninviting. My first thought was the quote from The Godfather “Look how they massacred my boy.” Truly a sad moment to see what it has become. EDIT: Just check out response below from owner that proves my point. And just bc i know theyre reading this on a Friday night and the response bothered them, I did get a drink. I waited 20 minutes in a line 10 deep watching patrons walk in and out while your wildly understaffed (albeit pleasant) crew couldnt keep up. And re: your paltry, futile tirade about prices of latte, you overcharge for oat milk which bumps your price up. Add tax and tip, what I normally pay is now reaching greater than $8 when it was always around $6 with prior owners. Increased coffee prices, decreased quality. Yikes, my guy. But keep blaming customers. Winning strategy there 👍🏻"
"Kudu Coffee is a fantastic spot! Their coffee is excellent, and I was pleasantly surprised by their great craft beer selection as well. I stopped in and enjoyed the courtyard—what a lovely and inviting space to relax. Definitely worth a visit whether you’re grabbing a morning coffee or winding down with a beer."
"Kudu is hands down one of my favorite spots in Charleston. Whether you’re craving a perfectly brewed cup of coffee or a refreshing craft beer, Kudu delivers every time. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting — perfect for enjoying a sunny day in their charming courtyard. It is a must visit spot whenever I visit. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, and you can tell they care about quality. I love that they support local breweries and roasters, too — everything feels thoughtfully curated. If you’re in Charleston, this is a place you have to check out. Great vibes, great drinks, and an all-around gem!"
