What People Are Saying
from Google"I love this place. I ordered the harbinger sandwich (phenomenal) and the turmeric dirty chai latte. There was a slight mishap with the latte, but Hannah and the team were super kind and re-made it for no extra cost. The vibes inside are very cozy, the bathroom is immaculately clean, and the WiFi is fast. (I will warn that they play music pretty loudly in here. If you prefer to work in silence, you may want to go elsewhere) Good place to get some work done and enjoy the surroundings."
"I’ve been going to Harbinger for 6 years, and can today say I had the best meal in Charleston here. While my partner and I regularly walk over for a chai or pastry, today we got the Brussel Caesar, Carrot Salad, Winter Caprese Sandwich & Spice Girl. To say it’s better than a dinner we had the night before (at a new Michelin star) is honestly an understatement. Every single flavor was perfect, our lattes were impeccably balanced, and the festive decor created the ultimate cozy vibe. I hope the amazing gals working behind the coffee counter & chef station get a well earned holiday thanks for the magic they make here every day."
"I love the Harbinger because their cold brew gets me ZOOTED. My favorite treat is the Cha Cha Cha Chia, dense but soft and chewy bar with yummy frosting. I like trying their lunch trios. They change the lunch often and keep it interesting. The atmosphere is welcoming and I like their seating outside in the back. Parking is tricky in this area but always worth it. It’s a short walk from Habitat for Humanity, so it’s nice to grab a coffee and go thrift shopping!"
"Fabulous little cafe. Sister cafe to Harken downtown (also very sweet). I LOVED their breakfast sandwich and honey cookie. The coffee was good too (Americano). Mix of students, locals in the neighborhood, visitors and families. They have a lovely option to pay $5 for a local neighbor in need to get a free drink. I think this is an effort to acknowledge the gentrification and impact on the surrounding neighborhood. My only warning is that the sitting space is not amenable to fat people and larger bodies or wheelchairs. The tables are attached to the floor with very little space between. Totally fine to order to go or to sit at the front counter, but not then back seating area. Overall a great spot and would definitely go back!!"
"On our way out of Charleston, our group stopped in for breakfast. I got the avocado toast and my husband got the quiche. I really enjoyed my dish. The peanuts and spicy sauce made it feel a little extra. I also got a cold brew and it was delicious. My husband didn’t like his dish as much. He said it was a little bland and the salad that came with it was dry. Overall I loved the atmosphere and it was a good place to stop on our way out."
