What People Are Saying
from Google"We wanted to try this place base on the reviews. We loved the atmosphere and it was a very quiet night since it was a Wednesday. The bartender, Alexis, was fantastic. She did a great job making drink suggestions. My wife and her sister did the bartender choice of pick two and I let Alexis decide for me. She was spot on with our drinks. They even let us know that they do cocktail classes before opening on certain days of the week. We will be making a reservation the next time my SIL is in town. See y'all again soon."
"Stopped by V&V on a Friday evening for a nightcap. Was told they were at capacity and there would be an estimated 10-15 minute wait to seat the 2 of us... Ended up being about 30 minutes. As a service industry veteran, I totally understand the limitations of seating - but I couldn't help but to notice through the opening of the curtain, an open love seat. When we were reassured about the wait from another server/host I inquired about it. We couldn't be seated there since it was included as a 4-top with two lounge chairs across a larger poseur table. All is well with that decision but seems like a future opportunity for versatile seating. There's about 10 or so tables and a few seats at the bar in a stone basement setting. 2 bartenders (possibly 1 bartender + 1 barback) and 2 servers/hosts. We were seated at what 4-top table near the bathrooms. * A few observations: It took another 10 minutes to receive waters. With no signal in this brick basement, I asked for a WiFi code (as they didn't have one posted in the 'waiting area', bar walls, or on menus. Unfortunately, the server didn't have it on her and it was too long & wonky to write down. She tried to share it via phone-touch but couldn't because the Apple-Android incompatibility. Also, the short table footing/base is solid & bulky pushed up against the wall side. No comfy way to store your feet unless you sit somewhat sideways pressing your legs together. I noticed the fella next to us in a replicated seating arrangement was forced to do the same. I couldn't sit slight to his side, and the other side was close to the opening of the restroom door. I ended moving across and sitting next to my fiance. Was still met with the potential of being smacked by the restroom door whenever somebody went in/out. Unfavorable seating arrangements to sum it up. I ordered the dealer's choice of smoky & spicy. It was a mezcal margarita without much/any spicy factor. $18 (not including tip) for the gamble. Was expecting something a little bit more elevated. We probably consumed our cocktails within 30 mins and waited 15 minutes for a server. No one stopped by and we were under the constraints of 2 hour parking so we airing on the side of caution for round 2. We eventually had to walk up to the server at the nook at give him our card to run... They were understandably busy, but could probably use another set on hands on deck. A few tweaks and I could see them fulfilling higher potential. For the price point, uncomfortable seating, and lack of wow in drink, atmosphere, service, and timing - it wasn't my cup of agave."
"Alexis is phenomenal!! I had one night in Greenville and stumbled upon Vault and Vator on Google. It’s romantically lit and at first we thought it was closed. I called the number on the door, Alexis answered the phone and then she showed us the way in. Her service is ✨ FIVE ✨ STARS.✨ The ambiance is very romantic and lightly lit, the music was perfect. The bar is very clean and comfortable. We tried the espresso martini, the old fashioned, some shots and then I requested one of the V&V Dealer’s Choice drinks and asked her to make me something spicy and fruity! She hit the nail on the head with her Esmeralda cocktail. It was an amazing date and the service made an exceptional experience! We will definitely be coming back here to visit and to see her specifically. If you’re nearby stop in and see her !! 💗"
"We were told about this little speakeasy and it took us a bit to find it but it has a fabulous vibe inside. Drinks were a bit intimidating- I’m a wine drinker- but I asked and was helped by one of the mixologists. Fun drink!Servers were nice and knew their skills, just got a bit of a “too cool” vibe from them. We didn’t eat but the menu for the evening looked like a lot of fun and adventurous!"
"Having been to V&V several times, the best part of the experience for me has always been sitting at the bar, watching drinks being made, usually having a chat with the person making them. This is a great way to get recommendations of cocktails based on preferences like sour, smoky, floral, etc, but this last visit, two of us sat at the bar more or less ignored. Water was placed in front of us and then nothing, for like ten minutes, with closed menus. It wasn't particularly busy, and there were several people behind the bar, but that interactive experience I normally enjoy did not happen. Drinks were still very good though."
