What People Are Saying
from Google"I’m a bit of a food snob, and I’ll be honest — I was impressed. The desserts were decadent without being overly sweet, the salad was fresh and crisp, and the entire meal felt thoughtfully prepared. Their tea selection is huge, and everything I tried was excellent. The hosts were kind, genuine, and incredibly accommodating. For the quality of the food and the overall experience, the value is outstanding. Highly recommend."
"Charming country tea room with delicious scones. Food is quite tasty with good proportions. Reasonable selection of Harney and Sons teas although the loose leaf varieties are limited. Staff has warm southern hospitality and they do a significant takeaway business as well. Definitely check it out if you are in the area!"
"Our experience today was lovely. From the moment we stepped in the door, we were greeted with friendliness and southern charm. The Menu: Savories: Tomato Tart, Chicken Salad Croissant, Shaved Roast Beef and Cucumber Scones: Blueberry Scone and Orange Cranberry Scone Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam Sweets: Salted Caramel Brownie, Raspberry Cake, Almond Tart Tomato Tart: delicious, crispy outer pastry, creamy, melt in your mouth filling 10/10 rank. Chicken Salad Croissant: (a house specialty) well mixed, packed with flavor and red grapes. The croissant was soft and pillowy. 10/10 rank. Cucumber: soft, springy white bread, not a smidgen of staleness anywhere 9.5/10 rank (could have used a slightly thicker slice of cucumber). Shaved roast beef: meaty, juicy, tender texture, shaved perfectly, not too thin, and not too thick, so that, a lady, could take a dainty bite, and not have a roast beef tug of war with her teeth. The bun was light and airy and the horseradish spread was delicately seasoned with just a kiss of horseradish. 10/10 rank. …let me tell you now… this was one of the absolute best savory tiers we have ever enjoyed in all 96 Afternoon Teas. Scones in The United States are NOT the same as England. They just aren’t. With that said, these scones were some of the best “Americanized” scones we’ve tried. Good texture, not too crumbly. Each one boasted a surplus of fruit and flavors. The “cream” was housemade clotted cream. The strawberry jam was very natural tasting in strawberry flavor and not too sweet. Scones 7/10 Clotted Cream 6.5/10 Jam 8/10 News Flash: American Afternoon Teas sometimes, (actually, almost always) skimp on the savories and overdo the number of sweets. It is quite disheartening for a sweet tier option to take away from the experience rather than enhance it. The Brownie: fudgy, and delightfully not too sweet. The caramel was almost maple like in flavor and complimented the whipped cream and gooey fudgy chocolate center. Brownies are not what I would look for in an afternoon tea. Too heavy of a choice, in my opinion. Afternoon Tea sweets are typically light and airy and refreshing after your “meal” of savories and scones. 6/10 rank The Raspberry Cake: elegant in presentation. I was expecting a crisp, shortbread, crust, as found in many afternoon tea pastry options, instead it was quite dense, with thick sugar cookie like sides and a bit of a gummy middle. The raspberry on top was fresh and bursting with raspberry flavor. I did eat the inside but did not eat the cake/cookie like crust. It was too sweet and too heavy of a choice. Maybe the jam filling made the bottom a bit soggy. 5/10 rank The Almond Tart was… SUBLIME! Like a Golden Joconde sponge. The almond flavor was vibrant and fragrant and scrumptious like marzipan. The sponge texture was light, bouncy and had a drizzle of almond simple syrup that lingered on your fingertips and of course, made you lick your fingers for every delectable bit. This sweet option was by far, my absolute favorite of the sweets. Refreshing. Light. Just the way a sweet should be. 10/10 rank We devoured pretty much everything which is a good indication of how delicious everything was. You will not leave hungry! Our tea server, Linda, was charming as well and so attentive. I should have asked if I could take her photo as her smile added so much JOY to the experience. Lovely soft music was playing in the background. Knightsville might be an outlying area of Summerville, a little off the beaten path, but visiting is positively worth the drive. I honestly can’t say enough good things about the owner Lisa, (darling hostess) the entire staff, and the whole Afternoon Tea experience. To me, the highest test and ranking of all, is this, … would you come back? ABSOLUTELY, without a doubt!! BOOK NOW!! You will not be disappointed."
"This is an adorable place with friendly service and delicious food. I enjoyed the meal, the tea and the atmosphere. I will absolutely be back soon."
