"⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5) I hadn’t been back to Marlins since the 1980s when it was still the old Starlight Café, so stepping inside brought back a lot of memories. I even worked here for two years back in the day, with my brother carrying on the “legendary” family status (tongue-in-cheek). We stopped in around 7:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning, just before the breakfast buffet started. The place wasn’t very busy, which surprised me since years ago you’d see a line out the door on weekends. Service was attentive but not chatty—our waitress had her hands full with her section, but she made sure everything got to us promptly. Breakfast was classic truck stop fare: a ham & cheese omelet, hash browns, over-medium eggs, sausage links, and toast. It was good, nothing to complain about, but also nothing to write home about—solid, standard diner food. I always make a point to check the bathrooms since I feel they reflect the state of the kitchen. In this case, I wasn’t impressed. The bathroom felt neglected, which pulled my overall rating down. All in all, Marlins is a decent, no-frills stop for a traditional breakfast, but for me it lands right in the middle. Good food, okay service, but the condition of the bathrooms keeps it from being more than average."
"Took a couple minutes for a staff member to see me waiting at the table. It was busy since it was lunch rush. Ordered the chicken tenders basket with cheese curds which also came with toast. Service was pretty good and she was handling at least 6 tables. No complaints, good portions for the money spent. Going to mark this place on my GPS for future visits."
"Dinner Served! This place has reasonable space inside. The staffs are really helpful and attentive. My order that night happened to be turkey salad and ribs and oh, boy, it was very generous portion on both orders! The ribs were cooked to perfection with savoury sauce, as for the salad, it was fresh and meaty!"
"Average truck stop restaurant. The odor of diesel and or some sort of heavy duty cleaning agent greets you on the way in and stays with you during the meal. I was really concerned that an open flame might make the restaurant explode from the diesel fumes. The food was prepared averagely and was angood amount for the price. Plenty of French fries that were fresh made and crispy and the cole slaw was typical sysco food distribution fare. It was crisp and serve cold. Service was okay. Oh, one more thing. The water served was atrocious tasting. Tasted industrial or straight piped from Flint Michigan."
