What People Are Saying
from Google"In Chattanooga for a 3-day orientation, I had already been searching for local restaurants with solid reviews and great food. Japanese cuisine was on the radar, and when my buddy mentioned Attack of the Tatsu again, it instantly re-jogged my memory. I didn’t even realize it was located downtown—beautiful area, very peaceful vibes all around. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted promptly. At first glance it looked quiet, but we quickly realized they actually have two separate lounge areas, which was pretty interesting. Then once we turned the corner, the atmosphere completely opened up. You could hear people enjoying themselves, and the energy immediately felt right. Our server greeted us quickly (if I remember correctly, her name was Mary). She was super attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. If you’re unsure what to order, she’ll gladly walk you through the menu and their to-go drinks. We had a few cocktails and highballs—strong, refreshing, and dangerously tasty. I had never had a highball before, and those pack a punch. For drinks, we tried the Apple-Plum Highball and Akuma Highball, along with an Old Fashioned and a Midori Yuzu Sour. Everything was made to order with fresh ingredients, and honestly, one drink is more than enough. We started with the Tsukemono (Pickled Mushrooms). They ask if you want them paired with vegetables, and I highly recommend saying yes. They came with carrots and daikon, each pickled differently. One had an herby note, and the other tasted like it might have been infused with fried garlic or something similar. A great, affordable appetizer. Next up were the Tempura Oyster Mushrooms—crispy, great texture, and paired perfectly with the Tatsu sauce. Our last appetizer was the three Katsu sliders, and I was in love at first bite. Crispy chicken, tangy katsu sauce, crunchy cabbage—small but absolutely mighty. For the main course, I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, and my buddy got the Katsu Curry Ramen. The broth was rich, silky, smooth, and packed with flavor. The pork was tender, the egg was cooked perfectly with a soft, slightly runny yolk, and the ramen noodles were cooked just right. Portion sizes were very generous across the board, and I don’t think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. My buddy attacked his ramen with full force and left no broth behind. If you’re ever in Chattanooga, Tennessee and craving ramen, this is absolutely the spot to hit. You can’t miss. Big Texas thank you to the entire staff for checking in on us and being so friendly and attentive—we call that Southern hospitality."
"Oh my god! That’s it that’s all I have to say lol but no we literally just left here on the way back to Alabama and I’m so glad we did. The Ramen here is top tier! Chefs kiss! I tried the Tonkotsu Ramen and I had a sparkling lychee drink. I am definitely leaving in a food coma all 4 hours back home. 10/10 will come back to Chattanooga for the food and the atmosphere inside there. Also they were playing anime in the bathroom 🤣 and if your eyes are sensitive to onions or smokiness in the air don’t sit in the back by the kitchen. My eyes started to tear up and burn mid dinner. It was worth it though 🤣"
"We came here on vacation and loved it. The food marvelous, yummy, and kid-friendly staff in the designated area. Loved food and the people! Thanks for a pleasant stay with a neurodiverse wiggly child ☺️"
"Stumbled upon this place, what a cool vibe. Workers are happy and in good moods. You can tell when employees like their jobs and are treated well. Plenty of staff, excellent service. Good music and food. I sat in the 21+ bar side area which was neat all in its own. Will be back try to different dishes. I did fries with a side of curry sauce to start which was fantastic. Then the chicken curry Ramen 👨🍳 💋 alot of flavor."
"If I could give more stars I would! First, we can’t go back unless Paul is there to take care of us. 5+ stars Paul!!! The atmosphere is unique and the food top notch. We had apps, main dishes and all 3 desserts. No sooner did we order it was at the table. Top tier on everything. Can’t wait to come back!!!"
