"★★★★★ Five stars — BBQ mission more than accomplished. While in Franklin on a solo business trip and craving local BBQ, I stopped into Puckett’s Restaurant and grabbed a seat at the bar, and it was absolutely the right call. My bartender/server was super friendly, attentive, and made dining alone feel easy and welcoming. I started with the fried green tomatoes, perfectly cornmeal-crusted, tender inside, and paired with a creamy remoulade that was hard to stop dipping into. For my main, I ordered the Puckett’s BBQ platter with the half chicken, and it was fantastic — juicy, flavorful, and done with that classic BBQ taste: comforting, smoky, and satisfying without being heavy. The sides were just as solid, true Southern comfort that hits all the right notes. I also have to mention the Puckett’s Mule — hands down the best Moscow mule I’ve ever had. Perfectly balanced, refreshing, and dangerously easy to drink. And the sweet potato fries deserve their own shout-out: the best I’ve ever had. Crispy, not greasy, and completely addictive. Great food, great drinks, and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. I’d come back in a heartbeat."

"Had the opportunity to dine here the other night on our stayover in Franklin. Place had great reviews & the online menu was to our liking. After a brief walk down beautiful Franklin we found the restaurant just off the main street. We were somewhat surprised when we arrived shortly before 5.30pm (on a Sunday) & were told that there could be a 20 - 30 minute wait, while several tables appeared empty/ready. We were told we could eat at the bar, which after a 12 hour drive earlier in the day, was not ideal seating. We were greeted by the bar keep & she provided us with menus & cold drinks. Mrs. A ordered the fried chicken dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy n green beans. I ordered the Nashville cheese steak, which, I was somewhat surprised when it arrived with big chunks of brisket, rather than shave meat, but it was delicious. I always prefer to add to my meals so the cheese & bbq sauce's were both on the side. We prefer to eat HOT food & the fries were luke warm. This is most often the case when using shoestring fries, there is not enough mass to retain heat. The food was delicious, the service great. I DID question/mention to the young lady at the front desk when we left (almost an hour later) that I found it strange that MANY of the tables that were open when we arrived were still not occupied, left me wondering "A" how long they hold these table before/after the scheduled reservation time & "B" how many customers had they turned away in that hour, people that were not willing to sit at the bar or wait 20 - 30 minutes, with many other options in the area !? They appear to have a nice patio area out front, that on a warm day would be a great place to dine. - SPA007"

"A very nice place to grab a bit to eat. Reservation recommend on weekends for groups larger than four. Our waitress was attentive and had good recommendations. Kitchen prepared food and they had good presentation. Would have been nice to have one more piece of chicken on the large Cobb salad. We will be returning! Easy parking in the free garage across the street was a win."

"First I must say Sally was great! She was friendly and informative! The food varies depending on what you get. I would recommend the chicken fried chicken and the pimento cheese balls! The brisket was a little dry and the fries were a little old. The fried catfish was good though! So all in all a good dinning experience!"

"Visited for a late breakfast, actually just before 11am (lunch starts). Greeted quickly and decided on outside seating. The inside is definitely country store decor. Plenty of seating options also with a full bar. Bathrooms are found way in the back around the side of the kitchen. They were quite busy. Not sure if they take reservations but likely. Doris was super friendly and knowledgeable and did a great job taking care of the ordering also taking time to chat. The pancakes were perfectly light and crispy around the edges. Sausage was tasty and delicious. Scrambled eggs were good too. I requested a biscuit with brisket just because I wanted to taste their brisket. Well, they didn’t have any more biscuits, but they did comp me with a brisket sandwich and it was quite good. Woke up the next morning and just had to go back! Don’t miss this opportunity to visit a real nostalgic restaurant and enjoy some Franklin hospitality. I will definitely be back. Urban Cowgill November 2025"
