What People Are Saying
from Google"I searched "food near me" and Miss Polly's was near the top of the list. It was also highly rated, which piqued my interest. I walked 5 minutes (or less) from the Peabody Hotel and walked in. I was greeted with a smile from the server and told I can sit wherever. I sat and began looking at the menu. I was interested in chicken and waffles, never had them previously. I ordered "the Willie". Two pieces of chicken, a side, and a waffle. I also ordered a Ghost River Gold from a local brewery. It was good. The food came out and at first I wasn't impressed. The pieces of chicken seemed undersized and the waffle seemed a little crispy. I spread the butter on the waffle and put on the syrup. My first bite of the chicken was very hot! What was I expecting? I started eating the waffle while the chicken cooled and was pleasantly surprised! It had enough integrity to hold the butter and the syrup while providing a tasty crunch and still being chewable. I enjoyed the taste. The primo part of the meal was the fried chicken. It was spectacular! I wish I had ordered the 16 pieces. I would have eaten most of them. The batter around the chicken was crisp and tasty. The meat under the batter was tender and delicious. I think this may have been the best friend chicken I've tasted! Friendly folks, good service, and delicious food all add up to 5 stars for me. Highly recommended!"
"Good Golly Miss Polly I came in thinking a different menu that offered steak and eggs was live. They told I couldn’t have either of my favorite things. I settled on the Meatloaf, Sweet Potatoes, and Turnip Greens for $11. They overkilled it with ketchup but once I undrowned it, the flavor and choice were favorable. I doubled down on another heaping side of sweet potato fries for $3. And they even let me take a coffee to go. All in all, if you know what kind of comfort dive you’re walking into, this is favorable AF."
"Tasty! Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can't go wrong eating at Miss Polly's. First, this is best fried chicken anywhere. My kids agree. I believe this was the first place they ever had chicken and waffles. Frankly, the chicken here is much better than at Hattie B's. But that's not all! You want a great omelette for breakfast? Try the barbecue omelette. (See pic) I had one 8 or 10 years ago, and had another for breakfast on Sunday; they are still just as great. This trip was adults only, and Miss Polly's has a shorter wait time than several much inferior restaurants on Beale. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. If I were being super-picky, I suppose they could be faster, but really, it's Beale Street. If you're trying to wolf down your food to get to Graceland, you don't have the right attitude for Memphis."
"Omg I can't even begin to tell you how good my veggie plate was! Every bite of the food was Good! The service from our waiter was great! I'm not sure how that corn bread muffin tasted because I didn't eat it (no bread only veggie fast) but it had to be good because my best friend who can throw down in the kitchen tore it up! Omg I can't wait to go back and try some other menu items. This was a GNO event and all of my friends food looked good! Good golly Miss Polly lol"
"I went for breakfast. It was definitely average...nothing spectacular. I love the fact that the chicken was bone-in in their chicken and waffles menu item. The waffle was not warm and it was a little tough. It's true from other reviewers that it's a small space and if it's at capacity there is no where inside to stand and wait. When it's full the wait for food was ~15-20 minutes. Of note, they only take visa or cash."
